Ummmm...YES. If you love them you should stay with them. But I guess if they cheated on you then you could still love them and have good reason to break up.

^That's one possibility. Another might be if you can't be with them for whatever reason, maybe because you're moving away and won't be coming back, because it would be unfair to expect someone to be true when you'll never see them again.

But only if you've fallen in love with someone else or they have cheated on you... The first is for their own good and second for yours!! :|

theirs an old saying if you love something(or someone)set them free.....

what if you know they'd be happier with another person? thats a case of love them enough to let them go. because you want them to be happy. <-- my situation.... its hard.

Sometimes it's just not meant to last.
And even so, what if he/she was abusive and you still loved him/her? What if he/she cheated? Even if you're in love, you can't stay in an unhealthy relationship.

It's like this. My boyfriend is two steps away from becoming a drug addict, and I can never leave him. BUT, if somehow or any time he says that he'll stop doing drugs if I leave him, I wouldn't look back even once. I'd walk away from him with a smile on my face, knowing I'm doing something for his own good.

If it's true love you have to work at it no matter what. For me, love is too precious to let go of, for whatever other reason.
