I don't think I've ever known anyone to assume it stands for "allies", but it wouldn't be very ally-like for one of them to think that they are included in the acronym while asexuals, aromantics, and agenders are not.

I also agree with NCISLuverjk93 'cause I don't think it stands for "Allies" since they are straight people who do support the LGBT community, but they don't belong in it as they're straight, but I'm fine with them supporting it as long as they really appreciate it.
