Leyton Question
Explain it to me - this Peyton and Lucas thing
I don't hate them. But I don't love them either. I don't get it. Usually when I watch Peyton and Lucas I just feel confused about their love. In season 1 it was very clear they were being written as the meant to be couple with angst. But then he chose to date Brooke even after Peyton said she wanted him. And yes he cheats on Brooke for Peyton, but eventually when nothing's stopping them from being together he doesn't go back to Peyton, he goes back to Brooke. Then he convinces Brooke for the better of 2 seasons that she's the one for him. He even tells Peyton this several time. (Now let me clarify I'm not a brucas fan. Clearly those two aren't meant to be. ) Brooke is the one that has to break up with him - and still Lucas doesn't choose Peyton, instead choosing to pine for Brooke and even consider getting back together with her despite Peyton again being available. Yes he eventually chooses Peyton but if you are a skeptic like me - you'd think that maybe it was because there wasn't another option. But ok, say that's not it. So they are together but just for a few weeks/months before they graduate and she leaves for LA. And she never comes back. He later proposes but in the same breath says he's only seen her 3 times that year and that they barely text or email. Then 3 years later they are both in tree hill but he's been dating Lindsey for two years. So he dated Peyton for a year but barely saw her. He falls in love with Lindsey, Peyton declares her love and again he chooses someone else. He tries to marry Lindsey, says I do, is left at the altar and spends months pining for Lindsey knowing Peyton is available and not caring. Then tells Peyton he hates her. I haven't watched all the episodes past this point but I can tell you I already know Peyton and Lucas get married and have a baby so yay. But I'm not convinced. My otp has to convince me in every way they only want eachother. How does that happen when Lucas constantly chooses someone else?
