2012 Singapore GP
If Lewis moves to Mercedes for the 2013 season I think it will be the biggest mistake of his life. He has nothing to gain by going to Mercedes except a bigger paycheck, at McLaren he has a better opportunity to win more championships & races. Mercedes 2012 F1 car has been poor to say the least it has only won one race so far this season which is disappointing, the car seemed to show potential at the beginning of the season. McLaren on the other hand have shown throughout the season that they have a fast car to compete for the championship. Lewis has won three races so far this season which is not bad considering that this season has been so competitive. Jenson Button & Heikki Kovalainen along with many others believe Lewis will make a huge mistake by moving teams. Why would Lewis need to move from McLaren in the first place he is in a good position at the team. I know that he would like to win more championships and I know that McLaren would be able to produce a car capable of that. Mercedes on the other hand, would they be able to produce a race winning car for Lewis, probably not. Mercedes car over the last few years has lack race pace and were not very competitive. They cannot seem to produce a car capable of winning races they have a few races where they look strong but for most of the season it falls flat. Lewis has a good strong base built at McLaren but if he moved to Mercedes would it be as strong? Would Lewis be happy in a slower car which may not win races, I think Lewis would be very unhappy in that team. Lewis should stay at McLaren for at least another year or two, then he may have a better opportunity of getting a better car than McLaren. After all how bad could it be to stay at McLaren...

He takes his team and those around him into consideration when he answers questions and because of that sometimes he does sound a bit like PR has gone crazy. If the team say something he will go along with it and unfortunately that doesn't always...
