I have always liked to think that Formula One was a fair sport; for once I am not talking about the ruling, I am actually talking about the fanatic appreciation of thesport or there lack of one. I browse a lot of sites, spend a lot of time being called a fanboy and an idiot etc etc by mainly Ferrariand Alonso fans I must say. I don't pretend to understand Formula One, I just say what I personally see and my personal opinions of what is happening. Anyone who knows me, knows I watch Formula One first and foremost for the racing, but even that's not as good as it used to be. No one pushes to the limit any more. No driver wants to find their limit. I think that is because of the media and fans who will ridicule them for it and I think it isdisgusting. There is not a single bad driver out on that track. There are a few who are amazing and a few who I do question why they are there sure but in essence they have all earned their positions within the sport. The problem with Formula One, like with media in the rest of the world they tend to write more stories about scandals and when a driver makes a mistake. For example - Sebastian and Lewis have hadamazing performances this year and some very bad performances... For Sebastian mostpeople overlook the mistakes he has made because the car is so fast etc etc. Lewis has had some great races this year too in a car that is nowhere near as fast as the Red Bull. He is not there on Luck, luck plays a part but so does driving ability. It's not about just getting lucky in Formula One, its about maximising your chances and using the luckwhen it comes along. But yes Lewis has had some poor races and they are what people seem to judge him on mostly. He himself has said if you look at his resume you will see some amazing races as well as the crashes but people seem to want to forget that. Regarding to people's fanboy comments... HOW CAN I BE A FANBOY WHEN I THINK WITH MY BRAIN RATHER THAN MY BALLS AND EGO! Fangirl... Maybe, I do try not to be however sometimes I do slip up, but I have yet to find a driver I can go completely fangirl too because I like so many... ----- All eyes are on the 2008 Champion this weekend as he bids to recover, but his Suzuka weekend got off to the worst possible start on Friday when he was forced out of the opening practice following a crash on the exit of Degner Curve. But Vettel is nevertheless adamant his rival will ultimately bounce back strongly from the trials of recent weeks. "I think Lewis is one of the best drivers we have right now in Formula One. He's not very old but he already had quite a lot of experience, particularly with these kind of conditions," said Vettel. "I don't see him struggling just because he didn't finish in the last two races. He's still in a better position, better than I am. "I don't think it has changed much." ---- This is why I love Sebastian. Maybe he is being sarcastic or this is tongue in cheek... But you don't say things like that unless youmean some aspect of it. Lewis will bounce back whether it is this season or next. I think the worry for the other drivers is that it will be net season because he will be more determined than ever. The likes of Lewis and Sebastian are TRUE RACERS in my eyes. Sure Sebastian has yet to prove he has mastered overtaking but at least he tries. I am fed up with hearing how a driver shouldn't go for it and settle for where they are... If that's the way maybe Bernie should bring in his medals system because then all that will matter is winning. This years point system hasn't worked for the plain and simple reason that too many positions score points. To be completely honest Formula One was lost on the 1st May 1994. I didn't always agree with things that Ayrton did, but he was a true racer who when he saw a gap he took it because if he didn't he was no longer a racer.... I say it all the time but Formula One has got so safe now but no onewants to go for it... No one except Lewis andhe gets criticised for it. Lewis is in the wrong generation is his problem. He is a driver built holey around the era of Alain Prost, Ayrton Senna, Keke Rosberg, Nigel Mansell, Gerhard Berger, Ricardo Patrese... REAL DRIVERS. This era hasbeen influenced too much by Michael, that winning has to be easy. Fernando is full proof of that statement. Back in the day drivers used to crash all the time left right and centre but no one used to think much of it, it just proved how much they were pushing, how determined they were to succeed. ---- As you can see there are now only two racers out of the five I want to see take the championship... Sebastian or Lewis. They have had the hardest season so far this year... (Shove of Alonso fans) they always push as hard as they can and I love watching them race. They are true racers who make mistakes because they push... Sometimes too far but I was always under the impression that unless you learn your limit you never know how far you can push and you never learn how to progress. Lewis is a world champion. Even if Timo didlet him through it was Timo's choice to do so and there for deserves respect as does every other driver on that track. I am a proud McLaren Mercedes fan, and full follower of Lewis Hamilton NO MATTER WHAT! I am not a glory hunter and will NOT changewho I am following depending on who leads! I do not judge drivers on past mistakes but more on what mistakes I feel they will make in the future I do not discriminate against drivers because I do not like the team they race for. I have equal respect for every member of Formula One that goes to a track, even if I don't always agree with them Just because I am a McLaren fan, does not mean I hate every other team, I just disagree with some of their morals and beliefs. I do not dislike Fernando Alonso because I am a Lewis Hamilton fan, he is in fact one ofmy favourite drivers. I am British and proud to be so, so when a British victory occurs I am always happy. I do not judge the racers based on their appearance or my preconceptions, I judge them on ability and mannerisms. I detest any form of racial abuse in general and detest people who judge other based around their race or morals. I am not a religious person and find religionvery hypocritical, however I deeply respect racers who hold faith and feel safer because they believe they always have someone watching over them. --- Last year was a difficult year for Lewis but in the second half of the season he actually scored the most points. He had a few bad races... Monza and Spa... and he wasn't battling for a championship so if he won it was his win to the team to show his appreciation to them for all their hard work.He needs to take a step back and think championship... So what, sometimes you win sometimes you lose, but I want to do my best in all the races and be proud whether I win or lose. I personally feel that the pressure is getting to him because of all the expectation people are placing upon him... Just be yourself Lewis and if the championship lands on you it will feel even greater... Last four races last year Lewis took 22 points out of a possible 40 this year that would be... 25+15+15 = 55 points Sebastian took 30/40 so this year it would be 10+25+12+25 = 72 points Mark too 18/40 which would be 25+18 = 43 Points Jenson took 15/40 which would be 10+4+10+15 = 39 points I would do Fernando but he finished 2 races... oh hell he got 8/40 so = 15 Points Those points would make the championshiplook like this S.Vettel - 253 Points M.Webber - 245 Points L.Hamilton - 237 Points J.Button - 216 Points F.Alonso - 206 Points I would be quite happy with that I must say... Rather Sebastian than Mark... Though Lewis would be there is breaks hadn't messed up his Abu Dhabi run =( I just think this says its all to play for really no matter what mistakes are made... All I can say is COME ON SEBASTIAN AND LEWIS!
