NO THANKS! Tolkien did never give him any spouse. To have Legolas in the movie is logical since his father is there and dwarves are imprisoned by him in Mirkwood. So for Legolas being in the movie - YES but with a girlfriend - NO! The Hobbit is mainly about dwarves and Bilbo and that´s how it should be in the movie too. Creating a love story for Legolas who even isn´t in the book and some elf girl who doesn´t even exist in any Tolkien book would smell of a fanfiction for teeeny bopper fangirls or Twilight crowd. There is lots of such garbage on youtube and fanfiction net for those who are interested.

I wish they just stuck with the cannon, Adding Legolas was a win because, his father is there and he would have existed at the time so it does make sence for him to make an appearance but an OC, come on, this isn't fan fiction. Tauriel is just too Hollywood for Tolkien, I don't like it.
