Here are some random facts about the 1960s' greatest film, Batman: The Movie.

* Not counting movie serials, this is the 2nd superhero film. The first one was Superman and the Mole Men.

* This is one of three Batman films that have Adam West and Burt Ward. The other two are Batman: Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face.

* This is the only Batman film that has Cesar Romero, Burgess Meredith, and Frank Gorshin.

* This is the only time Lee Meriwether played Catwoman. However, she played Lisa Carson, a woman who was kidnapped by King Tut, in the show's second season. She also voiced King Tut's attorney in Batman vs. Two-Face.

* Julie Newmar wasn't in this film, due to being busy. However, she is in 2 Batman films, Return of the Caped Crusaders and Batman vs. Two-Face.

* Reginald Denny, who plays Commodore Schmidlapp, played King Boris in the show's first season. Both characters were kidnapped by Riddler.

* This film is the only time Cesar Romero's Joker and Frank Gorshin's Riddler teamed up. Joker teamed up with Penguin in season 2 and Catwoman in season 3.

* For over two decades, this was the only Batman film (not counting movie serials and TV specials). The second Batman film came in 1989.

* This wasn't the only live-action film where Penguin and Catwoman team up. They also formed an alliance in 1992's Batman Returns.

* This also isn't the only film where Joker, Penguin, Catwoman, and Riddler are a team. The same quad of villains teamed up in Return of the Caped Crusaders.

Robin, the boy wonder and Batman's first sidekick, has been excluded from some live-action versions of Batman. He was supposed to appear in the Tim Burton films, but was cut out. However, he has appeared various times in live-action. All of the live-action Robins are Dick Grayson, except for #5 who is John Blake.
