"What do you mean in love with him?" Sora spat.
"I have been in love with him ever since he and you came back from defeating Xemnas," Kairi returned.
Sora said, "How come you never told me?"
"I never thought you actually had no clue on what was going on between me and Riku," Kairi folded her arms across her chest.
"Well then why did you wait until now? When I just confessed my deep feelings for you?" Sora said.
"I didn't know you actually brought me here to confess. And besides, I was going to tell you sooner or later before Riku had the guts to confront you about us," Kairi replied."If it makes you feel so angry and crushed, then I think it's time we stopped seeing each other."
With that, Kairi walked back to her house leaving a heartbroken Sora on the shore underneath a star-filled sky.

The warming breeze traveled through Sora's soft spikes of hair. He looked out into the distance, remembering how Riku fantasized about other worlds far beyond into the ocean. Only later, did they realize, other worlds were only reachable by gummi ship.
Walking farther down the shore, he spotted one of the many papou fruit trees. He kicked lightly on the stump and the star-shaped fruit landed in the palm of his hands.
"I wonder who I can share this with now," he said to himself.
Even though he already shared one with Kairi, he felt disconnected whenever standing next to her.
"I guess no one," he threw the fruit far off into the ocean.
As he was leaving the island to go back home, he heard a scream filled with agony. He called up his keyblade, which fortunately still stuck with him, to see what had landed on the shore or dropped from the jungle above. As he neared the water, he found a golden bracelet, with keyblade chains that resembled the King's, Riku's, his and others that he didn't recognize.
A little farther to the left, a body clouded by darkness lay sprawled on the sand.
