Accually to tell you the truth, the Kingdom Hearts Story accually stoped at KH2, Kingdom Hearts 3 is accually Birth by Sleep, and it's story places it at the very begining before sora was choosen by the keyblade. (and the reason they decieded to go bacwards is because their Japanese and they can, they did the exact samething with the death note movies.)

Kingdom hearts 3 is NOT birth by sleep...nor is it KH 3D dream drop distance. Kingdom Hearts 3 has not begun development yet, but Nomura's desired console to work with is the sony ps3. So KH3 will most likely be a PS3 game...or even PS4...I thought everyone knew this by now =/

I don't think so. The story is being very well explained by the side games (coded, days, bbs etc).
I think the story is consistant, and it is all tying up nicely for the upcoming KH3.

I think the plot wasn't completely developed until like Kingdom hearts 2 or something, but they've done a good job patching most of the holes.
