Chapter 6
“What?” Naminé was shocked, “We need to rescue her!”
"Naminé we can’t. You know that, the Organization’s simply too strong for a group like us.” DiZ warned.
“There’s gotta be some way!” shouted Annie.
“Annie, she’ll be happy there.” Sara whispered to her, “After all, Axel’ll be there.”
“Whoever he is it doesn’t matter. She’s not safe there!” Riku shouted angrily.
Annie flinched and was speechless.
“And why is that?” Cloud asked.
“If she joins the Organization she’ll fight to the death so Sora will not wake up. Organization XIII is the ENEMY!!! And when Sora wakes, one of them is going to fall, sink into the darkness. And I’m pretty sure it won’t be Sora.”
“But…” began Annie.
“If she’s going to be in Organization XIII…” interrupted Riku, “She and them will share the same fate.”
“Never mind Jade.” DiZ announced, “Let’s focus on our mission. We still need to find Sora’s memories to wake him no matter what happens.”
Everyone paused. There was silence and Annie and Sara hung their heads. They knew, that would probably be the best thing to do.
“Your mission will be simple and be led by Axel.” Said a blue-haired man named Saïx. He was second in command after Xemnas, the superior.
“Ok, let’s get this done and over with…” Axel moaned. He cracked his knuckles and scratched the back of his head.
“Ok…” I murmured quietly. I hung my head. He seemed like he didn’t even want to help me. Doesn’t he like me?
“Hey, just kidding! Brighten up!” Axel laughed and gave me a friendly slap on my back.
I smiled and he summoned the black and purple portal. They were called dark corridors and Organization XIII used them to teleport to other worlds.
“Ladies first.” Axel said and winked.
“Why, thank you kind sir.” I said in a posh voice. I curtseyed and saw Saïx face-palm himself.
“Not another one…” I heard him murmur.
“Good one.” Axel grinned and nudged me as he walked through the dark corridor.
I followed after him. I hesitated at first but I stepped in. Then we were in a new world.
“Where are we?” I asked.
We were in a peaceful looking town. I felt safe here. Everything was the colour of a calm sunset and I saw trams running along a tram line in the distance.
“Well, by the looks of this place, maybe… Umm… Twilight Town?” Axel said in a dumb voice, “Don’t you remember? This is where we…” he paused trying to think of the right words, “Picked you up. To join the Organization. You basically come from Twilight Town.”
“Oh.” I said surprised.
“Now, you have to find a treasure chest. That’s it, after that we can RTC and I’ll have a nice nap.” Axel said.
“RTC?” I asked.
“Return to the Castle.” He briefly said, “But now, find the treasure chest.” Axel seemed uneasy and nervous but I didn’t say anything. “Have your flame-berges ready too. You never know when heartless will pop out.”
I summoned my flame-berges. Two fiery poles appeared in my hands. The poles then began to shape themselves. They grew slightly curved and sharp. This all happened in about five seconds. I noticed the handles had been remodelled. There were sharp spikes at the tips of it, very much like the symbol of the Nobodies.
Axel then summoned his own weapons which were twin chakrams. They appeared in wheels of fire. “Fire, fire.” He smiled, “I can tell, we’re gonna be good friends.”
I nodded smiling and happy.
So we walked through the town. Hardly any heartless had dared to come in our way and those who did were eliminated in a single strike. I ‘talked Axel’s ear off’ by asking him all sorts of questions about the Organization. Surprisingly, Axel listened to each question and answered politely, not annoyed, not bored or anything like that.
“You’re really easy to talk to Axel!” I said.
Axel had that un-easy and nervous look again but he smiled staring at me with his jade eyes.
We kept walking through the town I kept a sharp eye out for the treasure chest. It was pretty hard to find, but then again it if it was easy it’d be no fun.
“What colour is it Axel?” I asked.
“Red and gold.” He answered with a smile.
“How big is it? Roughly?”
“Comes up to your knees.”
“Does it have any patterns on it?”
Axel started laughing. “You’ll know when you see it.” He snickered.
Then I saw it. It was on the roof of the jewellery shop.
“There it is!” I say pointing.
“Yep, now how are you going to get up there?” Axel said, he used the tone of voice as if he was testing my skills and wits.
“Hmmm…” I heard a bell ring. It was the tram. Then an idea sprung into my head.
I jumped on top of the tram then leapt onto the roof of the jewellery shop.
“Tadaa!” I said and my flame-berges disappeared.
Axel appeared next to me in a dark corridor.
I sighed, “You know, you could have reminded me of that earlier…”
“You’ll learn how to summon dark corridors in time.” Axel grinned, “Now… The chest.” He gestured to the red and gold box.
I nodded and heaved open the lid of the chest.
“SURPRISE!” Out of the chest jumped Number IX, Demyx.
I laughed and also showed a bit of disappointment.
“Isn’t Demy good enough?” he asked trying to do a ‘puppy dog’ face.
My laughter turned into a quiet giggle.
“You’re supposed to be on recon Demyx.” Axel frowned and folded his arms.
“Fine. Take your treasure and I’ll be on my way. You know, it took a lot of work to get here…” Demyx threw me a orange velvet book. I caught it and he told me it was a journal. Apparently everyone in the Organization has one and needs to fill up as often as they can. I wasn’t quite fond of the idea of keeping a journal but I tried to act polite and kind while Demyx showed me what to do with it.
He then left in a dark corridor looking happy.
“Well, now that you’re done, can we leave? I have a place to be.” Axel murmured.
“Where?” I asked curiously.
Axel paused then grinned. “How would you like to come?” he asked.
The sunset beamed on his face and was reflected in his magnificent eyes. I smiled awkwardly and felt a blush spread all over my face.
“Sure.” I murmured shyly.
Axel held out his hand and I took it. A dark corridor started engulfing us, but something strange happened at that moment. I felt a tingle that went through my whole body. And it felt almost as if Twilight Town was calling me. Well, not all of Twilight Town but just a certain part of it.
I shook the mysterious feeling away and started concentrating on where Axel was going to take me.
‘Where was he going to take me?’ I thought.
Chapter 7
We appeared on top of the clock tower we had passed earlier. Number XIII, Roxas and Number XIIII, Xion were there eating blue ice cream.
“Axel!” Roxas smiled, “About time you came!”
“Oh, you’ve brought someone too.” Xion mentioned gesturing to me.
“Yeah, the newest member. Jaedx.” Axel said and sat on the ledge.
I stayed standing feeling awkward.
“C’mon sit. You don’t need an invitation.” Axel patted the space next to him.
I sat and Roxas passed Axel a blue ice cream. “Sorry.” He said, “I didn’t know you were gonna come.”
Axel took the ice cream and leaned it over to me. “Want it?” he asked.
“Woah.” Xion exclaimed, “Is that Axel? You never turn down sea-salt ice cream!”
“Well… Yeah. But…” Axel stammered and scratched the back of his head looking embarrassed, “She’s a new-comer!” He faced me and shoved the ice cream in my mouth.
I sat there shocked and unknown what to do. Everyone was watching me.
“Well, take a bite!” Roxas laughed.
I crunched down through the blue ice and down to the white creamy ice cream. It had a nice salty taste, then a soothing sweet taste afterwards. “Yum…” I licked my lips.
“Knew you’d like it.” Axel said.
“Oh, I don’t like it.” I frowned
Everyone stared at me in complete shock.
“I don’t like it…” I repeated, “I LOVE IT!” I yelled and everyone burst into laughter.
We spent the rest of the sunset talking and eating ice cream. The three of them then invited me to come to the clock tower after every mission for sea-salt ice cream. Of course I said ‘yes’ and I quickly became friends with Roxas, Xion and most importantly Axel. And somehow, suddenly, life seemed a whole lot better here.
The next day I was teamed up with Xion to eliminate a darkside Heartless in Olympus Coliseum.
I had actually hoped to be teamed up with Axel but I didn’t say a word.
When Xion and I arrived in Olympus Coliseum, we were surprised to find that the place was deserted.
Suddenly we heard banging noises from inside the stadium, so we rushed in. The room that we ran into had a second entrance to where the fighting was going on.
“Jaedx. Let’s go!” Xion said summoning a weapon called a keyblade.
We took a step but then… “Hey! You’re not allowed to just prance in here like this!”
“Who’s there?” I said and summoned my flame-berges.
“Down here.” Said the annoyed voice.
We peered down to see a short and kinda fat fawn.
“Hell-“ I began but was interrupted.
“First of all,” he said pacing back and forth, “Rule 107. Three words. NO GIRLS! And secondly if you’re here for the games, what’s happening in there is not a game. It’s the real dough."
“Our Heartless.” I muttered to myself.
“Some two faced Heartless think he can just waltz in here and trash up the place?! Anyway,” the fawn continued, “Herc and this other guy are in there so, don’t worry, they’ll be able to finish the job.”
Just then a loud roar boomed from inside the battling room.
“Oh, get out of the way!” I panicked and pushed aside the fawn. Xion and I ignored the rude comments he was shouting at us, particularly me, and we ran in.
We skidded to a stop, for there was a huge gigantic shadowy Heartless before us.
“I didn’t expect it to be so big!” I said terrified to Xion.
“We looked around for the two ‘heroes’ and we found them laying unconscious on the ground. One of them had a bandaged sword, and for some reason it seemed familiar.
“Jaedx, focus!” Xion warned.
The darkside’s body was half sunk into the ground. Around it, there was a swirling mass of a purple and black shadow that formed a pool.
I started attacking its hands. I could tell it was weak from the previous fight.
A glowing comet like power started building up in the heart-shaped hole in its chest. Then it blasted a ray of darkness at me.
It hurt but I silently endured it and braced myself for the next attack.
The darkside raised its arms then threw them in the middle of the battle field. A similar shadowy pool appeared and smaller Heartless emerged and charged towards us.
“I’ll take care of the small ones! You go attack the darkside!” Xion yelled.
I nodded but was unsure what to do. My hands were shaking and my feet were shifting uneasily.
“Aim for the eyes!” I heard a voice whisper.
The darkside forced its arms out of the shadowy pool and prepared to attack, but then, I was swept away just in time. “One more second and you would have been gone.” The voice said.
I couldn’t believe it, it was Axel who had rescued me!
He laid me down in a safe spot and I asked him what he was doing here. I was surprised but deep inside; I couldn’t help but feel embarrassed and happy.
“I couldn’t let you get hurt.” He said with a smile, “Got it memorized?”
I smiled back and we both tried to follow his advice before. To aim for the Heartless’ eyes.
A burst of confidence started to surge through me. Axel, just being there, gave me courage.
I sprinted towards the darkside and jumped onto its arms, which were half engulfed in a shadowy pool. I ran up to its shoulder and regained balance. And finally, I leapt in front of its face and threw my flame-berges into his eyes.
The fire from my flame-berges seeped into it and the darkside gave a roar of defeat.
I landed softly on the ground and the Heartless, and my flame-berges, vanished.
“Tadaa.” I grinned cheekily.
“Good job.” Axel congratulated me, “For your fist real mission that went pretty well.”
“Thanks…” I mumbled embarrassed.
“Axel, don’t you have your own mission to do?” Xion asked.
“Oh, yes… About that…” Axel gave a little chuckle.
“I’ll help you if you want.” I offered.
“You will?” Axel looked surprised but thankful and relieved.
“Sure.” I nodded.
“Thanks.” He replied, “We’ll get it done twice as fast now.”
“I’ll meet you guys at the clock tower after.” Xion said and disappeared in a dark corridor.
Ok, let’s get started.” Axel grinned and he summoned a dark corridor.
I took one last glance at the unconscious man with the bandaged sword. Why did he look familiar? I was pretty sure I’d never met him before. But I shrugged the thought away.
“To Wonder Land!” Axel announced.
“What?” Naminé was shocked, “We need to rescue her!”

Not much to do today. Looking back at my life, I say it was fine. I have no regrets. I sigh and peek at what he's doing. The one that has my appearence is eating Sea-Salt Ice Cream. Yum! The red head is saying something, but it's too blurry for me to hear. The girl is smiling, but not really paying attention.
It pains me sometimes. The three remind me of what I used to have. Terra. Aqua. I wonder where they are now? My memories are fading fast. Maybe when my host gets a heart I can be free. Maybe Sora found a way to free me, if he hasn't forgotten me.
I slide back down into the Darkness. Vantias is glaring at me again, but I'm to tired to fight with him today. "Oathkeeper!" Vantias hisses. "Oblivion." I yawn back. My energy was all used up. Closing my eyes, I hear them, whispering from my memories.
"Ventus! Ventus! Ventus!" Yawning, I imagine laughing and sparring with Terra and Aqua as I drift.
