The Ryu and Chizu situation has been plaguing my mind since I found out that she was in love with Ryu's older brother. Ryu was my favorite male character from the beginning. I liked his chill personality, and knowing that there was more to him than met the naked eye. When he said he loved Chizu, I paused the episode on my laptop and had a mini celebration. I, personally, am a sucker for the childhood friend becoming love interests type of story. But there has to be a 'road block' in the process. Unfortunately, Chizu was in love with the 'road block'. Ryu is still consistent in his passive persuit after Chizu, and I really admire that about him. In the manga, his emotions are shown in small gestures, which causes the reader to pay more attention to him when he appears. At the sports meet, he made his feeling clear. At the pier with Chizu, he made himself vunerable with his emotions. I was really personally moved by his proclamation of love (given that I was already infatuated with him). I am up-to-date with the most recent chapter of the manga, and I am hoping for the best for the two of them. I think Chizu is starting to realize that she has some feelings for Ryu, too! But tell my guys. Do you think that Ryu's love for Chizu is unrequited, or will it just take time to mature?
