1.
Decide what you want to cosplay for. Are you going to a convention, or are you hanging out casually with cosplay buddies? Check the date, and give yourself at least two or more moths to get this cosplay.

2.
Decide what character you want to cosplay, or dress up as.

3.
Research your character. Look up images of them and take careful notice of what they wear. This is including accessories, jewelry, and shoes. Find the best picture and use it as a reference.

4.
Look at websites that sell your character's costume. Look up as many as you can, because...

Clean your room. Make sure it's clean and that you have space to put stuff.

Write down all your favourite Animes and try to get a idea of which Animes to use for your room. (Ex: Lucky Star, Black Butler, Fruits Basket, etc...)

Once you've decided what Animes you want to use, make sure you got money. The most important part of this project is money. So start finding some money in your piggybank.
