Kakashi Question

Why did Kakashi leave ANBU?

When Kakashi was 13 he got promoted Jounin right? After that (for some reason, most probably at the Hokage's request) he joined ANBU. Then he left. Why?

He'd been a Jonin since the age of 13.....he joined Anbu when he was like 18
