Your grip tightens around the strap of your shoulder bag as you walk through the doors of your school. Your gaze flickers around nervously while you walk as discreet as you can towards your locker. A tiny sigh of relief escapes your lips when you reach your look, still in once piece. That feeling of safety does not last long though because when you’ve retrieved your books and are on your way to your first class, you hear someone call out your name. You recognize the voice immediately and you feel your body freeze in place. As much as you want to run away - you’re not able to. You stand there, unable to move, as the owner of the voice comes closer. “Look here. If it isn’t [Y/N], huh? Are we eager today?” Jason teases, letting out a haunting laugh. The rest of his crew laughs with him and you stand there quietly, not wanting to make anything worse. “Where did you get your clothes today, bitch? Did you find them in the garbage?” One of the girls snickers and you keep your gaze at your black, old Converse. “Well, that’s probably the only place a fucking whale like her can get clothes.” Another girl adds. You have to swallow the growing lump in your throat at this. You could usually take the verbal abuse about your clothes, hair and make-up but when it came to your body and weight - you could feel the tears threatening to fall instantly.

“Hey, leave her alone!” All heads turn toward the source of the voice and you come face to face with a boy who looks to be around your age. Jason scoffs loudly and goes back to throwing nasty words at you while you stand there, taking it all in. “Dude, I mean it. Back off! Leave the girl alone.” The boy commands, walking closer to the group surrounding you. “And why should I do that?” Jason asks, cocking an eyebrow at the still un-named boy. You throw a glance over at the boy helping you and for the first time, you notice his natural beauty. He has breathtaking brown eyes and his brown hair is styled into a quiff. “Because you’re just embarrassing yourself by making fun of such a beautiful girl. Besides, ” The boy pauses, throwing a look over his shoulder and a smirk appears on his pink lips. “I think there might be someone who warned the teacher about you.” This catches Jason’s attention and his gaze flickers between you and your unknown savior. You can easily see his adam’s apple bob and before you know it, they’re rushing away but not before he has pushed you to the ground. The boy reacts fast and almost before you hit the ground, he’s helping you up again. He supports you with an arm around your waist as he picks up your school books. “Are you okay?” He asks and to your surprise, it sounded pretty sincere. You nod and manage to give him a small smile. “Y-yeah. Thank you for standing up for me.” The boy offer you a charming smile and extends his hand to you, “You’re welcome. It wasn’t fair of them to pick on such a beautiful girl. I’m Justin, by the way.” “I’m [Y/N].” You reply and before you can comprehend what had happened, you’re walking to your first period, hand in hand with your new friend Justin.
