The housework; You and Justin had moved in together six months ago and both of you are happily in love with each other. He had asked you to move in on a date at the restaurant you had your first date together, and you couldn’t think of a more romantic way to be asked. Lately though, after Justin got back from tour, he is more and more sloppy. He doesn’t clean after himself when dinner is done, he tosses his clothes around mindlessly and so on. This is getting to you because you know he has a career to think about and work for but you work too, and you still have to clean up after him.
One day you’ve had enough and when you’re sitting on the couch with Justin, you decide to bring the subject up. “Justin, can we talk?” He mumbles out a response, keeping his eyes on the basketball game they are showing on TV. You sigh deeply, reaching for the remote and turn off the game he was watching. His head snaps towards you, confusion written all over his face. “What the hell? Why did you - are you okay?” He interrupts himself once he notices your upset expression and creases forms on his forehead.
Biting your bottom lip, you shake your head slowly. Justin, looking more confused than ever, motions for you to elaborate. “I wanted to talk to you about something and you completely ignored me.” You mumble, crossing your arms across your chest. “I’m sorry. I was watching the game but since you turned that off… What’s up?” “See, this is what I mean. You wouldn’t have listened to me if I hadn’t turned TV off. I wanted to talk to you about your clothes, Justin.” You say, much clearer this time seeing as you want him to hear your thoughts. You want him to listen to you and respect your opinions. Justin cocks his eyebrows, barking out a short laugh.
“Uhm, okay. What about them?” “You leave them everywhere. I know you have your career and fans, so you need to work hard. I understand that but that doesn’t mean you can’t pick them up after yourself. I have work, too, Justin but you don’t see me throwing them everywhere. I found your jeans in the kitchen the other day. I’m tired when I get home too and I would really appreciate it if you could clean after yourself.” The words gush out of your mouth but you’re relieved when you’re done because you needed to get that off of your chest. Justin’s face has now melted to a frown and as he stares at you. “I’m sorry, baby. I didn’t even realize. I’m gonna start cleaning, I promise. I just don’t wanna fight about this. What about a movie night tonight and I’ll clean the apartment tomorrow?”
