So, hey everyone, this is another DIY update article that Iām publishing way too soon after the previous one, and believe me ā this would have had been published days ago already, but I didnāt feel well during the weekend (turns out that āsleep is for the deadā is not the best motto to live by, especially after the very final exams of the year) but putting that aside, Iām here to tell you about my newest creation. So obviously I have made a few voodoo dolls in my life, those were very authentic ones ā wire skeleton, yarn wrapped around, everything the way it should be. Disclaimer ā I have never used such things to harm anyone, itās just fun and creative thing to do and you can use them to attract good things too. After the last Beltane I ended up with 3 such dolls, donāt even ask why. I initially wasnāt planning to share those as well but then I thought āwhy not?ā after all they look very cute. Also take a look at the gorgeous box I bought for my witchy tools, itās so prettyā¦ Letās not switch topic to the details of voodoo magick. To me it was 95% interesting creative expression and maybe a little bit of something else. There is one thing about whole witchy practices thing that Iāve understood ā itās like maybe 5% actual spellcasting, energy work and spirituality, the rest is just creative goofing around, many practitioners have told the same. I would say the whole aesthetic we all love ā cauldron, besoms, beautiful crystal collection in an Esbat moonlight and an enchanting ritual in the forest by the fire is just what it is ā an aesthetic. Especially for solitary practitioners. Yet we canāt resist to admit that beauty attracts good things, otherwise would I pay so much attention to the color of threads and beads in my Witches Ladders? If I didnāt know what I want to attract? And by creating anything ā DIYs, tools, gifts for friends or simply beauty and decorative items, we put a little part of ourselves into everything we make, in a nutshell ā our energy. To me as a true DIY and creativity fan ā this is the most precious and powerful way of magick and achieving what we all want the most ā a beautiful flow of purely positive and attractive energy being shared and exchanged between all living and even non-living beings. Anyway, Iām going away from main topic again, letās switch back to DIYs. After Beltane, I looked through Pinterest ideas of crocheted dolls that look like voodoo, after a huge load of inspiration striked me again, I decided that I need to try. This was one of my most relaxing and fun projects I have made in like years. A beautiful rest from all the dreamcatcher gifts, redecorating room and the complicated and fine crochet project Iām making since last August and donāt even know when itāll be finished. Iām simply STUNNED by how adorable this voodoo baby turned out. I wanted something more creepy, but I have to agree with my mum, she always says that Iām simply unable to make something ugly. Itās true, even when I want to make something creepy, ugly, crazy looking on purpose, no matter how hard I try to make it look disgusting, it ALWAYS ends up looking cute and adorable. I just canāt make something I could hang on my door to scare neighbors away. I think Iāll have to just accept this as a fact. I mean ā just look at that tiny crocheted creature! The lovely round belly it has, head, adorable tiny arms and legsā¦ I just canātā¦ Itās sitting in my lap while Iām writing this because itās just too tiny, cute and helpless to be left alone in a room ā yeah, I guess itās what they call āmotherās instinctā. Whatever, enough babbling, just check out the pictures and let me know what you think of these.
