When I walked in, I immediately saw that freak, but now, she had what looked like Ponyboy's clothes on and grease in her hair.

The noise and laughter blurred as you began to nod off, head on Johnny’s shoulder.

“Hey,” your boyfriend says, gently shaking you awake. “You got to stay up till midnight.”

“Whyyy?” You whine.

“Because someone wants a New Year’s kiss from you.” He rolls his eyes.

“Fine.” You say. “Now how much longer do I have to stay awake?”

He glances at the clock. “Five minutes.”

“That’s so long.”

“Not really babe.” He laughs.

You just sit in silence for a couple minutes, taking in the rest of the party as Johnny played with your hair on the couch.

“One minute left!”...

“No. No way.” Johnny says, eyes looking up at the highest part of the roller coaster. “Yeah… No.”

“Come on Johnny, pleaaaase?” You whine, tugging at his arm.

“But why?” He whines. “I don’t like this.”

“But it’s fun!” You smiled.

“No… It’s not. It’s completely horrifying.”

“It’s not that scary.” You roll your eyes. “And besides, we’re already in line.”

“But we can get out of line.”

“Nope. We’re here, and we’re staying.” You say firmly.

I was taking a walk late at night when I heard crying coming from the lot, familiar crying. I peered around a tree and saw my friend Johnny sitting there curled up in a ball bawling his eyes out. I rush over to him and hug him. "Johnny are you okay??" I asked him while holding him close. He continued to cry "what happened?? Was it your parents???" He looked up at me and in the moonlight I saw cuts all over his face and a huge puffy black eye. I gasped and held his face lightly. "Who did this to you??" I woke up feeling terrible. My head hurt, my throat was sore, I was freezing, everything seemed wrong. I kept on and on coughing. Throwing up was what I felt was coming next.

"Are you alright, Johnnycake? You don't look so good." I heard Ponyboy when I looked up.

"No, I'm fine. I'm seeing Torie today, and that's final." I disagreed. Then I coughed again which sounded and felt like I was gonna throw up.

"You're not gonna go to school today. I mean, look in the mirror. You look terrible!" he protested.

[PONYBOY'S POV]

"Damn, is that freak scary..." Dally stated, looking at the person that had black, long hair and had a thick black jacket. As I studied the person's face, I found out it was a female. She held a sharp switchblade in her right hand. When she looked up at us, I noticed her mascara dripping from around her eyes. Dally kicked the girl's leg.
"Dal, stop!" Johnny warned.
"What did you say? What did you say to me, little shit?" Dally took his response to heart.
"Looks like she's been through a lot." Two-Bit said, depressingly. He squatted down next to the girl.

You walked around the fair with your friends as they pointed out different rides they wanted to go on. You got very easily distracted thinking about Johnny. You guys had been dating for about a month and he promised to take you to the fair, since it was your favourite place to go. But, 2 weeks before summer vacation, he told you he was leaving to go visit his family in Florida. A few of your friends boyfriends come and join you guys, and you just sigh and sulk about how Johnny isn't there. You open your eyes and roll over to see your boyfriend, Johnny, snoring away. You giggle at how cute he is when he sleeps. He slightly opens his eyes. "Morning beauiful." he says. You give him a kiss on the cheek "Go back to bed, I can tell you're tired." You get up, walk into the bathroom and start the shower. While waiting for the water to warm up, you get the chocolate cake from the night before out of the fridge and cut a piece for Johnny for when he wakes up. You go back to the bathroom, and get into the shower. You begin to shampoo your hair and dance around in the tub while singing....

“You can see the stars a lt clearer out here, can’t ya?” He mutters as he settles down in the sand.

“Away from all the noise… The lights.” You say, sitting down next to him.

He lays back, head on his hands. “Sure are a lot.”

“Yeah.” You say, laying down next to him.

“My mom… Before she… You know… Started drinking,” he almost chuckles, giving off a small hint of a smile. “She told me something about stars.”

“What was it?” You smile.

He turns to you, grinning. “It’s real stupid.”
