Does anyone know why Brian isn't in the opening credits on NCIS?

I know he's not on every episode, but he could be, and he's been on the show for years, so if anyone knows, please tell me!!

Sadly I do not know he is on the DVD box of season 8 finally so hopefully year 10 of NCIS he will be in the opening credits to let us hope
