Jessica Biel Lights Up Talking About Baby Silas on the Today Show and Says, "He\'s Just a Joy"—Watch!

Jessica Biel lights up when she talks about her and husband Justin Timberlake\'s baby son Silas. She also said she is grateful to the most important woman in her life for inspiring her as she handles what she calls "the hardest job in the world."

alum spoke about the child, the first for the couple, on NBC\'s 

"He\'s wonderful," Biel said, smiling. "He\'s just a joy. It\'s an amazing, amazing experience. Incredibly hard—the hardest job in the world, and I\'ve never been more thankful and grateful to my own mother. Oh my gosh, I just...I\'m gonna call her right after this, actually, and just thank her because what she, what you have to do for your kid, it\'s an amazing responsibility and the biggest joy ever."

When asked if Timberlake was getting up in the middle of the night to feed and change Silas, Biel said, "He is doing it all."

Biel has recently been working to try and educate young women about their reproductive health. She stars with comedienne and actress Whitney Cummings, 33, who had her eggs frozen earlier this summer, and

alum Joy Bryant, 40, in humorous PSAs about birth control methods for Funny or Die and WomanCare Global.

"This was really personal for me," Biel said on

. "A couple of years ago, when I was thinking about starting a family and I started to, you know, realize, \'OK, well now you have to get off birth control and what happens? How exactly is it gonna go?\' I just started to realize I had absolutely no idea, really, what my cycle looked like. I never knew and I was embarrassed and I didn\'t want to tell my friends, I didn\'t want to tell my mom and then I started talking to people and I realize nobody else knows."

"And it was this real awakening, this moment of, \'Oh my gosh, we have a real kind of problem going on here," she said. "There\'s such a lack of education and such a huge amount of misinformation that comes to these issues, women\'s reproductive health issues, and it\'s just staggering what we haven\'t been taught!"
