JAM We Love Jam

smoore23 posted on Apr 05, 2009 at 02:04AM
So I was thinking that we should start a Jam thread. I know there's a lot of other spots that have something like this. Basically it will just be a place to discuss Jam, The Office, anything, really. What are your favorite Jam moments? Any favorite photos of the two of them or of John/Jenna?

Aw, I forgot about that moment from The Carpet. That was so cute and I'm glad Pam did that. It made Jim so happy! :)

How do you guys feel about the relationships they were in before they got together?

[Pam/Roy, Jim/Karen, Jim/Katy]

I don't really care about Jim/Katy, they didn't really bother me too much. I liked Karen alright until she got all catty with Pam and started rubbing their relationship in Pam's face. I've always liked Pam/Roy (especially in season 3 when Jim was being a jerk and Roy was sweet).

What about you?

And because I love this icon so much:

Pam and Roy are okay. Jim and Katy never really seemed like it was a real relationship to me. Jim and Karen was also bugging me when Karen rubbed it in Pam's face.

I love that icon!

So does anyone else miss the angsty/drama-filled eps of seasons 2 and 3? Don't get me wrong, it's great that they're together, but sometimes I miss the angst.

I think that's why I loved Season Three so much. After watching Jim suffer in Season Two, it was a nice change to see Pam in that same situation. I love Pam to death, but she needed to be in Jim's shoes for awhile.

That's how I feel, too, chel. Couldn't have put it better.

in season 2 I felt sorry for Jim, and then I felt the same way for Pam in season 3. I preferred season 2 over season 3 though.

I was debating this with someone lately...when do you think is the exact moment Pam fell in love with Jim?

She clearly has feelings for him all through Season One and Two, but I don't think she falls in love with him until 'The Secret.' When Jim confesses that he used to have a crush on her, she looks so excited. I think that had Jim said nothing else, she would have eventually broken up with Roy. But then Jim says he's over it and it's clear that he just broke Pam's heart. That is the moment I think Pam truly realized she loved him, because otherwise learning she's no longer into her wouldn't have hurt her so much. And that look Pam gives him at the end of the episode...OH MY GOD!!

What do you all think? Was it before? After?
over a year ago smoore23 said…
I don't know, I mean, it's hard to pinpoint a specific moment that she fell for him. Maybe she was always in love with him but she didn't really realize it until Jim told her about his crush on her. It's like that was when it finally hit her. Because we know that she has always cared about him. And don't you love how she just barely leans into him (even though Jenna said she didn't mean to...)?

There are so many moments that you could tell Pam is in love with Jim. I can't tell exactly when it started.

worried
After 'Two Weeks,' I was worried that we weren't going to have any JAM interaction because Pam no longer works at DM. I'm so glad Michael set up shop in the Scranton Business Park...Pam and Jim in the same building is better than nothing. And with Charles making Jim so nervous, I'm almost glad Pam isn't around to see it. I feel so bad for Jim!
over a year ago smoore23 said…
Aw, I know. I don't like Charles. He just doesn't seem like a friendly guy.

So what did you guys think of 'Broke'? I sort of feel like the whole Michael Scott Paper Co. thing was worthless b/c everyone is right back where they started, except for Pam. :/ Meh. Good ep, though.

Could Jim have been any sweeter in 'Broke'? He could have told David Wallace that Michael's new company was going broke and looked really good in front of the boss...but instead he kept quiet for Pam's sake.

Also, I absolutely adored the look Jim and Pam exchange when he's leaving. It reminded me of the end of 'Michael's Birthday' when Michael is gushing about his Night Swept gift and they are sharing that little secret smile. :D

What do you think of the episode description for "Cafe Disco"?
It says, "Pam and Jim decide to take a secret trip."
over a year ago smoore23 said…
Hmmm, Cafe Disco. Maybe it's one of those things where the entire office goes on a little excursion (a la Michael's Birthday, for example) but J & P get bored and go do their own thing.

[Spoilers:]

They won't be eloping or anything like that since all the spoiler sites are saying that they definitely won't be getting married this season - we'll have to wait till fall.

They'd better not elope! I want a wedding with all the trimmings. I want to see Pam in a gorgeous dress, Jim in a tux (but maybe without his hair all slicked back), dancing, Dwight keeping gate crashers out, and plenty of opportunities for Michael to embarrass himself.
over a year ago smoore23 said…
I know, I do want to see them all dressed up and everything. :) I don't know, I kind of like it when his hair is slicked back. Of course, either way looks good! :)

So basically kind of like Phyllis' Wedding, but WAY less angsty.

I just want to see them dance. I was actually rooting for Andy and Angela to get married just so JAM would have a chance to slow dance. I need more than just swaying!!! :D

I think pretty much in general it's so much easier to watch the previous seasons now that we know that they're engaged. That doesn't change the fact that my heart still breaks in a million tiny pieces every time I watch Casino Night and Gay Witch Hunt.

I mean, look at that icon. :( :( That *kills* me to watch.

Omg, I know! And it's not like Pam's making it any easier for him by not letting go till the end. OMG I'm getting sad, I have to go watch a happy clip on YouTube or something, lol.

I am not getting my hopes up. In fact, I'm 99.99% sure it's not happening. I mean, it'll happen eventually, but I really really doubt it will be in this episode. Those promos just love to tease us. :/

But I guess that leaves the .01% chance... ;)

i think they're trying reverse-reverse psychology here. they want us to get excited about JAM saying they're getting married, but they WANT us to think that there might not be a possibility of it happening, so that when it DOES happen, we're all like, OMG IT REALLY IS HAPPENING! :-p

Wow, that promo is so cute! Yeah, I doubt they're going to be getting married next ep, that would be way too random.
