How did Jack die

It is never revealed how he died, and became the pumpkin king. It is left open for opinions such as, "Being the spirit of Halloween, maybe he always has been a skeleton?" or he had a previous life. Only fan theories suggest possibilities, and are usualy turned into Fanfics. The only thing i've seen that could possibly lean tward the "He's always been the way he is" is in the game, "Oogie's Revenge". When you walk up to the guillotine, and he says something about owning one when he was a boy. However, In my own theory, I belive he has had a previous life due to one small line in one of his songs: Jack's Obsession.
"Something's here I'm not quite getting, though I try, I keep forgetting, like a memory long since passed..." POSSIBLE hint for a back story? There's no way to tell.

I believe he was a human before because he had a faint memory of christmas while in christmas town, and he says he is dead numerous times. You have to of been alive at one point to be dead now right?

What a bunch of geniuses. The question isn't "How did Jack die in the movie?" It's "How did Jack die?" As in, how did he reach the state we see him in during the movie?

He is already dead I should know Im addicted to Jack. Watch the beginning of the movie a couple times and looks closely to the dude with the pumpkin head. Then when he jumps into the acid stuff watch. The scare crow costume comes off. He was already dead.

At the beginning of the movie, when he jumps into that fountain of...acid? Posion? I don't know; the point is, he was a pumpkin-scarecrow-thing and then he jumped into the fountain and came out a skeleton.

Well I think he was born dead. You know his mom and dad were Skeleton. Like Jack and Sally's daughter was born a Skeleton.

this is not in the movie or games but i think that he might of died by curiosity. If you noticed he is very curious about christmas in the movies and he likes to experiment on things. my guess is he died for curiosity of an experiment.

He didn't die, he got blown up when he was pretending to be santa clause and he sang a song about just lying there dying and even says 'In a million years they'll find me, only dust...' but then he has an epiphany and decides to save Christmas... etc....

I think that he was alive once but does not show in the movie but he might have died in a fire, I think this because he is a skeleton and his clothing is torn and mabe if he wasn't in a fire he would be in heaven.

Well in one of his songs he says "to a guy in Kentucky I am mister unlucky-" I believe that he was murdered by a man in Kentucky.

No one really know how. But he does state that he is dead. He also give a few little hints in the song of who he was in a past life. So when he sings "to have died in Kentucky im mister unlucky. And im know throughout England and France."

He may have been just spawned in Halloweentown, that's what I think. I think whoever created the holidays just chose specific beings for each one to represent that holiday

To be honest no answer is wrong, Jack most likely died a REALLY long time ago (cus he's the holloween King!) What I saw a lot was people kept saying he was the spirit of holloween. But there was a mayor AND he had physical form because he went to the human world and he was able to touch Santa. Jack probably died by natural cause or some kind of sickness cus if he live a long time ago and he can't remember he was probably a pilgrim or something. Just note he is very old. :)

I'm pretty sure jack scellington died normally after the incident of Emily which is In the Corpse bride I'm pretty sure zero is Franklin wienie and and also zero jack might be victor from the corpse bride which had been in the land of the dead before he even died but he could have died in many other ways
