Jace & Clary Question

Did anybody realize that Jace is supposed to be a vampire?!?

In City of Ashes, after Jace finds Simon he slices his wrists and feeds him blood to live again. But then Simon jumps on Jace and Bites him.... doesn't that mean that Jace Should become a vampire?

Clare explains this on "The Mortal Instruments" website link

"Why didn't Jace become a vampire after Simon bit him?

City of Ashes, p. 192:

"You might remember that when [Simon] was in the form of a rat, and you came to fetch him from us, he bit me," said Raphael. "In any case, he took some of my blood into his mouth when he did it. You know that is how we pass our powers to each other. Through [VAMPIRE] blood."

Jace isn't becoming a vampire because he didn't ingest vampire blood. Simon became a vampire because he did."

no bc Simon bites him and drinks his blood but he does not bite him and let go like a vamp would do if he was turning some 1 in 2 a vamp.

No. In TMI series to become a vampire a person must be bitten, yes, but also taste vampire blood which is why Simon Turns :)

No. Only when the vamp gives their blood to the person, they will become a vamp. In city of bones simon is in rat form and accidentally bites a vamp, and sucks his blood. A little bit. Not a lot. That's how simon turns into a vamp.
