Solo singer IU came under fire after netizens accused her of using a lolita concept for her latest album Chat-Shire.
In addition to controversial lyrics in her song “Zeze,” netizens also accused the Loen Entertainment singer of referencing Lolita by having smudged lipstick in one of the album photos.
After similar photos of popular actor Park Bo Gum garnered much praise from fans, however, netizens used the reaction to defend IU from the industry’s double standards. In addition to comparing the reactions of fans based on the gender of the celebrity, netizens also brought up that IU had previously explained the meaning behind the smudged lipstick before the controversy arose.

She performed the 7 songs in her remake album for the first time, but also sang her old hits. She even turned into a radio DJ to talk about the stories that her audience had submitted. She talked with the attendees, even giving out gifts personally. SHINee's Jonghyun, ZE:A's Kwanghee, Kim Bum Soo, 2AM's Seulong, Jo Jung Suk, Akdong Musician, Ha Dong Kyun, and CNBLUE's Yonghwa were guests during her series of concerts.
On her last day, IU said, "I can't believe this is the last concert. I was so nervous on the first day. Through these concerts, I felt that I was receiving a lot of love from a lot of people. I was very happy during the performances, and I was able to get one of my top experiences in life."

Belting out "I like you oppa, what should I do" in her hit song, "Good Day," IU quickly rose to the top of the list as the nation's next younger sister and was adored by many uncle fans. However, as she gradually made her way into appearing on variety shows, we were shocked to see that IU was not so child-like as she seemed. For one, IU does not have a cute, high-pitched voice that we all thought she would have. Actually, it's quite deep. And her unexpected comments such as, "When girls are rushing to go out, they sometimes only wash their bangs," shows that she has a hidden tomboy, easy-going, and surprisingly mature personality behind her baby face.
