On November 3rd, a famous Korean media site, Daily Sports reported that IU sampled Britney Spears’s song without permission from the artist.

The song under question is ‘Twenty Three’ and it is currently accused of sampling ‘Gimme more’ using sounds such as ‘Ah Oh’ from the famous pop artists song from 2007.

The accusation was started by Britney Spears’s fans. A fan of Britney Spears uploaded on an online community saying, “I am positive that the voice singing ‘keep on rocking’ in IU’s song is Britney Spears. Britney’s fans are not complaining only about the ‘Ah Oh’ or the moaning sounds within the song. Those could be just sample CDs readily available for producers and most fans understand that. The real problem is the ‘keep on rocking’ anyone can tell that this is Britney’s voice. Britney has never released sample CDs and this makes me very suspicious.”

IU’s ’23’ is an album bonus track and is not available for download but if it is confirmed that she used these samples without and credits or permission for official sampling it may negatively impact IU’s career and image, especially since IU is listed as lyricist and co-producer.

IU kicked off her concert series on May 22nd. This is her first time having small theater concerts, which are special because celebrities can communicate with their fans in a smaller, more intimate space.

She performed the 7 songs in her remake album for the first time, but also sang her old hits. She even turned into a radio DJ to talk about the stories that her audience had submitted. She talked with the attendees, even giving out gifts personally. SHINee's Jonghyun, ZE:A's Kwanghee, Kim Bum Soo, 2AM's Seulong, Jo Jung Suk, Akdong Musician, Ha Dong Kyun, and CNBLUE's Yonghwa were guests during her series of concerts.

On her last day, IU said, "I can't believe this is the last concert. I was so nervous on the first day. Through these concerts, I felt that I was receiving a lot of love from a lot of people. I was very happy during the performances, and I was able to get one of my top experiences in life."
Singer IU is becoming one of Korea’s most sought-after stars among the makers of commercials.
The star has recently been chosen to advertise a popular brand of soju (an alcoholic beverage popular in Korea), following in the footsteps of some of the “hottest” stars in Korea, such as Lee Hyori.
According to an article published by media outlet OSEN, however, the star currently has four advertising contracts with companies, and is now negotiating over a possible three more deals. The article calls IU a “CF Queen”, or a “Queen of Commercials.”

And it seems that IU is not only in great...

It was recently confirmed that actress Kang So Ra was rocking a $30 USD 'H&M' branded dress at the '2014 Mnet Asian Music Awards,' garnering much attention to her rather prudent choices.

The dress was reported to have cost around $30 USD as well. The flowy dress decorated with flower prints can be found on H&M for $24.95 USD.
