Lee Hyun Woo and IU are longtime friends, and over the years there has been some speculation over the nature of their relationship. On the June 11 episode of “Happy Together,” Lee Hyun Woo talks about what it’s like to be the subject of such rumors and clarifies that they are not dating.

It was rumored in 2013 that the two of them were seeing each other after they were spotted at a movie theater together. However, their agencies both denied that they were in a relationship, and stated that their managers had been with them at the theater as well.

On “Happy Together,” the hosts ask Lee Hyun Woo about the rumors. He replies, “The weird thing was that after we went our separate ways after the film, when I was on my way home, I kept getting phone calls. My agency told me that there were articles being posted online.”

When asked if the two had gone to the theater alone, Lee Hyun Woo says, “We went with our managers as well. But just one or two hours after, I started getting so many phone calls! I was trying to sleep.”

“I was like, ‘What’s with these rumors?’ so I called IU and asked her what we should do,” he adds. “But she was just like, ‘It’s nothing to worry about.’”

Yoo Jae Suk asks, “But as you hang out together as friends, isn’t it natural for there to be some feelings between you two?”

“With her?” laughs Lee Hyun Woo incredulously, although the hosts don’t seem convinced.

An interview that IU gave about acting is being brought back to light.

IU, who has recently been confirmed as a female lead for the new drama “Producer,” had appeared as a guest on SBS‘s “Healing Camp” in July of 2014 and had revealed her feelings about acting.

At the time, IU expressed her love for acting, saying, “Acting is really fun too. It’s completely different from singing. The emotions that I can’t express through singing, I can express through acting. I’d like to continue to do both in the future as well.”

She added, “In terms of emotions, in singing, my emotions are expressed after going through the melody and the lyrics, whereas in acting, the emotions are expressed as they are. I get to use emotions that I don’t normally use. I haven’t cried out loud since I was a baby, but through acting, I get to cry out loud or get angry, and can express emotions that way.”
