Fans of singer-actress IU have prepared a very special and meaningful gift in celebration of her 22nd birthday!

IU’s fans first began the “IU Forest Project” at the beginning of this year in January, in order to build a forest in time for her birthday. The “Star Forest Project” is an eco-friendly way for fans to create a forest in their star’s name.

It is said that about 250 types of trees have been planted in IU’s forest, which is located in Yeouido, including flowering cherry trees, boxwood trees, and more.

Fans that took part in the project expressed, “We’re thankful to be able to participate in this forest project in celebration of IU’s 22nd birthday. We hope that just like the beautiful flowers and the trees that provide shade and a place to rest, many people will be able to receive beauty and rest in their hearts through IU’s music and various activities.”

Meanwhile, IU is currently spending her birthday on the set of her new KBS drama “Producer,” which premiered on May 15.
