It was one-sided. She loved Itachi but Itachi didn't reciprocate the feelings. Kishimoto makes Obito says he killed his lover to emphasize how important Sasuke was to Itachi.

I mean, I'm assuming Itachi's girlfriend was from a distant Uchiha branch family (perhaps a sixth or seventh cousin or some other distant relative... so you're barely related by blood at that point so the kids won't come out retarded), but still! Well think of the culture and the time. Kekkai Genkai is coveted and Itachi was a powerful shinobi. In order to keep the blood line pure, the clan united, and to ensure the Sharingan is passed on the clan head (Fugaku I do believe) would have set up an arranged marriage for Itachi, his successor.
Persoly I think he had a girlfriend but I also think he didnt want to kill her any way if he is still looking for a new I can do it I'm nice kind and sweet.
itachi does have a girl friend i hear that the creature of naruto kishimoto masashi is actually going to mak itachi's gf an important part in the anime i hear this from a friend who lives in japan i believe her name is still being chosen , it is said she will not die itachi does not kill her it's either she kill's with itachi or she's on a mission when it happens i'll find out more from my friend back in japan hopes that helps hear's a pic of her (or alest i thing this is what she's going to look like) spread the word! this is not the confurmed pic but till they find a name and a look for her this will have to do......

It's make sense, because Uchiha clan was the one of those which really traditional and strict about their status as the mightiest clan in Shinobi World. This condition is especially important for the next clan leader, and according to Mikoto Uchiha, "Itachi was older than Sasuke, the elder son of the clan leader...so that's why he will take the position from his father and watch over the clan in the future".
So..The most plausible reason about this 'lover' thing, especially if you mention how old Itachi is at that time, it was an 'arranged marriage' made by his clan.
Tobi only told sasuki that he he killed his girl friend........never told who........
she is dead.........so she cant be those girl u guyzzz suggested..........my guess is she is from uchiha........itachi only slaughtered uchiha Clan

Well..We never know untill the very end of Naruto manga-anime, and also the last databook which is possibly release when the series end. However, isn't it ironic?He doesn't really bound to his clan, called the Uchiha's name as just a name & nothing more, he sickened by his clan fanatism...But ironically, all possible relationships Itachi can get are all from his clan. His parents, brother, best friend, and even lover?? Part of me actually denied that Itachi's possibly loves his lover....
when i think abt his love....i feel very tragic.......even its hard for itachi too.....tobi did say.....itachi cried with tears of blood.........it is that painful for him.....he bear all the blame & pain him self.....for the leaf & his brother......he is the real hero of the leaf...............

What you just said seriously sounds like a fanfiction.-__- Please try to re-read or re-watching all episodes of Naruto-especially the most recent chapter which contain info about Itachi--, then you'll know what I mean as 'ironic', but that's only if you analyze those information objectively and not solely based from assumption. What Tobi said about the details are just partiallly true anyway, and if you've paying attention, you should realized that Tobi dramatized every single info he gave--especially when he makes an explanation to Sasuke who is still in unstable mental condition at that time. But Sasuke's quite smart enough to cross-check the info given by Tobi with other's, including from the Re-Animated Itachi himself. From that point, we got these facts : -Danzo didn't killed Shisui. He just take one of his eyes, then Shisui gives the other one to Itachi before Shishui makes his own existence to be unknown. -According to Hiruzen, Itachi considering his infiltration to Akatsuki as his mission from Konoha. -Itachi didn't believe Sasuke's strength, as he always seen Sasuke as the one who should be protected.Remember what Itachi said about himself, who served as Sasuke's big brother a.k.a the ultimate obstacle to overcome? That's the actual reason why Itachi taunt Sasuke to challenge him 'till the edge. -The time Itachi realized Sasuke's potential, was just right before Kabuto's Edo Tensei ended in the 4th Shinobi World War. So, I say this once again: we have to wait untill Kishimoto-sensei explain to us about what actually happened in his manga, anime, or other media such as databook for confirmation. Itachi does not have a girlfriend, and really girls it isn't going to happen. Fan girls he is not a man to clam. Just because your his fan doesn't mean he's your boyfriend! I am a fan lover too and I can't just go up to anybody and say "Itachi is my boyfriend" even if it's in my username. So stop daydreaming! Get a life and move on! Yes,by what i have looked up and read i do think itachi has a girl.Madara did say he also killed his lover so that is one big clue.If itachi did kill her with the killing of his clan i think it was to proect her from beaing hated or shuned.or it was is if she followed him to the akatsuki should could get killed and he mostlikley didnt want that.

but it did be sad Itachi killing his girlfriend i think that he should have aloud her two live in the hidden leaf village then she could take care of Sasuke while he was still young and after pein and some others bad member of the akatsuki is dead then she could go whit Sasuke and travel whit him then they find Itachi and she kiss him and tells him how much she miss him and then she sees Sasuke and Itachi fight then when Itachi is deading he tells her how much he loves him and maybe she could be able two heal him if not then he could make Sasuke promise two keep her safe then they both start two love each other and Itachi is watching from the heaven both Sasuke and his girlfriend then Sasuke and her could grow two love each other and restore the Uchiha clan and she could have a baby whit Sasuke that could look a little like both of Itachi and Sasuke and she could have name her first child after Itachi and name the baby boy Itachi and Sasuke could like that naming his first child after his brother and then after the child is one she could have a baby two baby girl this time and name one Mikoto after Itachi and Sasuke mom and they other girl name Sakura after the cherry blossom tree and then ones her twins girl are two then she could have a baby boy again and name it Stanley and maybe Itachi Sasuke brother could be allowed two visit his beloved girlfriend and play whit her kids for a week and talk two Sasuke and maybe he could get premisson from God two live on earth again has along has he did not kill innocent people then he can live whit his girlfriend and Sasuke and there kids that did be nice although it still would be sad that Itachi did died but at least after God gives him premison then he can return two the world of naruto be a real human again

hi guys we now finally know for sure who's his girlfriend! her name is izumi uchiha.(even though it's not said but everyone who's smart knows they're in love a bit) and for clearence, ITACHI DID NOT KILL HIS GIRLDFRIEND! tobi/obito did proof of this is found in episode 452-455 naruto shippuden (fillers itachi's story) hope this cleared a lot for your antwoorden belows a picture of her chilling with itachi xD(or starving him to dead)
According to the novel, both Itachi Shinden Light and Darkness, Izumi was not together with Itachi. Itachi even stated that she's a "friend" while visiting a small tea shop where he sees his old teammate, Shinko. She always mentioned that she admired him, and Itachi was fully aware of it. "Lover" has other meanings as well, such as admirer,and it can also apply to one person. If you put the pieces together, then you'll know that Izumi was only Itachi's admirer. Read both novels to know more about it. If you'd like I can link every Izumi and Itachi part of the novel to prove my point or just to simply read them.
P.S: Itachi used a powerful Genjutsu on Izumi in order to eliminate any "self doubts".
