I'm honestly not just answering based on my dislike for Kagome -.- but I seriously believe he will always love Kikyo more. As for those who think he loves Kagome more simply because he becomes jealous when Koga's around, well, clearly you haven't been around guys who feel they need to become a bit more possessive of a girl they care for when potential competition comes along; loving her doesn't mean he loves her more than Kikyo.

For the record, those who say Kikyo should go back to hell are very immature; someone even said she cursed herself.....clearly misinformed. Kikyo didn't ask to be brought back, as everyone should know.....and if she hadn't been around, there would face been major plot-holes.....which is obvious. She isn't even annoying enough or contradicting enough --which Kagome definitely is-- to actually dislike....the only reason to dislike her is because you believe she's in Kagome's way, when really the one at fault should be Inuyasha; Kikyo never told him to chase her, she discouraged it, in fact.

I hate to admit but i know that Inuyasha loves Kikyo more than Kagome . I was raged when i saw inuyasha kissing Kikyo when Kagome is not around !! Especially in final act episode 8 !! Kagome is right behind him with everybody around .. ! I know its sad for him to lose Kikyo but , can't he conisder of Kagome more ?! Kagome all the way !!!!

I actually think it's pretty obvious that Inuyasha loves Kagome more than Kikyo. In the final act, Inuyasha said that Kikyo was the fist person he cared about and loved. Yeah, he loved Kikyo, and you can never forget your first love. But, you see at the end of the final act that Inuyasha and Kagome were happy together, and that Inuyasha got over Kikyo. So yeah, Kikyo was Inuyasha's first love, and he can never forget about her, but deep down, he knows Kagome is his true love.

Lol , I love how everyone thinks that Inuyasha loves Kikyo solely on the basis that he is always leaving Kagome for Kikyo. But have any of youu guys think that he probably did that out of guilt because she died and was not able to protect her. Youu guys need to think outside of the box. Have any of youu guys thought that maybe Kikyo and Inuyasha met so that Kagome and Inuyasha can meet?! It was set up in a way that they were bound to meet. If Inuyasha truly loved Kikyo, he would have never married Kagome. Do not get me wrong, there is always a spot for first love and is irreplaceable, but reality is, we have to accept and move on from our past. Thus, in the end, Inuyasha chose Kagome because he realized that Kagome was his true love. With Kikyo's presence, it was hard for Inuyasha to detect who he loves the most, because his first love was conflicting back and forth with his heart. However, Inuyasha never had the intentions of letting go of Kagome, he tried, but failed to.

He did kiss Kikyo at the first but he kissed Kagome as well at the end and they are also married. People say they can breakup but this is a anime that's how the ending goes.

When I read Inuyasha, I came to understand the term loving someone and being married to someone else. It's not that you don't love who you are married with. But there was no word to describe how much you love the other one. However, in logical ways, life and death won't ever fit together.
If the author chose to describe a love that was strong enough to kill himself... I think the whole story's messages would be very negative.

I read many comments that saying Inuyasha's feeling for Kikyo was just guilty. However, I still hardly understand his actions:
*** He said “her life belongs to him as well”. This was simply an arrogant, selfish declaration. If he only felt guilty, I couldn't understand why would he say that?
*** Even when Kagome had doubts about Kikyou, Inuyasha still kept on believing Kikyou. I’m not discussing about love or guilty. What I’m trying to say is Kagome’s opinion meant lesser to him when it came to Kikyou. He could run to Kikyo and leave Kagome (sometimes, even without a word to Kagome). He made the same mistake about Kikyou over and over again (even though there was (only) once time that he didn't do it, but then again, he repeated it.)
*** He wanted to have all the private times being alone with her. Really, it's not understandable. If he just wanted to check whenever she was healthy or not, It was unneeded to be alone (Especially when all the thing they talked was about... work). However, I still don't know why it took him so long just to discuss working with Kikyo enough to make people in his team wondered.
*** Even in front of people, his eyes hardly took away from Kikyou. Many times, I didn't see him looking back at Kagome (without Kagome's calling his name). The eyes hardly tell the lie. Have you ever stayed in one place but couldn't take your eyes away from different place emotionally (as Inuyasha), tell me how did you feel back then? And, let’s think for a moment: Do you find it easy to look deeply in someone’s eyes when you only feel guilty (especially when you still couldn’t return the favor)?
*** And in Kikyou’s last moments, I’m sure that everyone wanted to have a word with her after all that she’d done, but Inuyasha wished to have all of her time for himself. Personally, I only see the way he spent with her in last moments just happened between lovers.
*** He could give up everything even his life for her. After her true death, he would have died without Kagome’s voice. He never answered that he wanted to go after her or not. Kagome knew he did want it.

I know that he didn't stay with Kikyo. But I could explain it because Kikyo disappeared all the time. Kikyo always reminded Inuyasha to come back with his friends. Even a deceptive guy as Naraku couldn't find her when she wanted to hide herself. Then I don't believe Inuyasha could. And he knew it as well. Moreover, Inuyasha wanted to detroy Naraku before Kikyo so then she didn't have to fight. You want him to fight alone? Inuyasha could be dump when it came to emotion, but he isn't a dump guy. Doing so would solve nothing. And let be honest, no body really want to be all alone all the time :)
