Akane. Shampoo's and her tribe sees men as inferior to women (Rana's name means wild horse no way would he be willing to surrender to them) and Shampoo sees Ranma more as a prize, she may genuinely care for Ranma but she's more in love with her tribal laws than Ranma plus she already tries to influence him with drugs and potions so in that way she's as bad as Kodachi.


Ukyou acts more like a sister. I see her as his friend, maybe a sister figure but as a partner, She's not enough. She just wouldn't cut it. That and she's TOO submissive to Ranma, I could never see her as a life partner.

And Kodachi? FORGET IT!

Akane. I don't even see Ukyo.

although i love the ranma and akane pairing dearly, i gotta say ukyo is good for ranma. maybe even too good. plus she's known ranma since they were kids and may i add can cook. but i don't hate akane though. i love both women actually.

Even in crossover fan clubs this question is still asked, but I'll answer this questions because I sort of enjoy theses discussions.

My answer is again Akane, since @ soulfire524 explained; Akane is the least selfish of the fiancee's. The fact that the other suitors ( of both Ranma and Akane ) are even trying to split them up is selfish. It would've been better if they try to break them up just because they think that their relationship is unhealthy or bad, but they are trying to break them up so either Ranma or Akane can be with them. That alone is a pretty selfish. The other suitors never considered that maybe Ranma or Akane may not be interested in them. Granted I think Ranma leds them ( Shampoo and Ukyo ), but still it doesn't give them a right to break them up. And the thing is that they ( Shampoo and Ukyo ) try to use manipulation, guilt trip, potions that forces someone to change their feelings ; they even try to kill the other girls ( mainly Shampoo and Kodachi, but I question Ukyo since it was her idea to trap and kill Hinako in the manga version of the Hinako arc ).

My final reasons for thinking Akane is the best is that Rumiko stated it's canon and the whole Ranma 1/2 series is about the relationship of Ranma and Akane. If Rumiko wanted a Ranma/Shampoo relationship or a Ranma/Ukyo relationship, she would've given them more screen time and development, but she didn't. I will respect the creator's decision because it's her manga and her characters, I think she should have a say on her own creation.
