When put to the test they are pretty strong.

kagome is wimpy wheras akane is strong and doesn't need to depend on anyone to save her. May i add she's more skilled too.

kagome only depends on her arrows..akane's really good in defense and offense..

I think Kagome is weak..

akane is stupid kagome is a priestess and they only depend on their spirtural powers and arrows thats all they need to whip akane's ass into next week,and if that happended that would have made my day!

kagome may be a priestess, but she still needs people to save her and only got those powers because of kikyo. Whereas akane is strong regardless and doesn't need weapons to show her strength and i agree with others that akane can put up a mean defense and offense and doesn't even let ranma get her down. In fact, she helps out ranma in a lot of ways. which is why her and ranma were made for each other.

At first I picked Akane, because she's a martial artist, but then I thought that the word "fighting" can have a deeper meaning.

Both girls are fighter both inside and out. They NEVER give up and keep pushing on despite others who point out their flaw or tell them they're not good enough. And at the same time they remain compassionate toward others.

They've overcome many obstacles and put their lives in danger and go out of their way, constantly to help the one's they love.

Akane and Kagome, they are so very strong. It doesn't matter what the odds are or how hopeless the situation, they keep fighting. No matter what others say to hurt them or difficulties they face, you can't keep these two down. Therefore, I think Akane and Kagome are equally strong fighters. In fact, sometimes I believe its the very spirit and essence of Akane and Kagome, that hold ranma and inuyasha up, and gives them a reason to keep fighting too.

i picked akane because she worked for her own strenght whereas kagome magically inherited all of kikyo's powers and abilities and still sucks.

I just love Akane

Cuz she doesn't need anyone or anything (weapons) to fight or to win...
