"MISUNDERSTANDING WILLIE SCOTT"

One of the special feature clips for my "INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE" DVD featured a take on the characters featured in the Indiana Jones franchise - love interests, villains and side kicks. When "Indy's Friends and Enemies" focused on Indy's love interests, the subject eventually came upon the leading lady of "INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM" - Willie Scott.

Now, I am aware that poor Willie has never been popular with the majority of Indiana Jones fans. She is probably the least popular of Indy's three love interests in the films. I just want to make...

Last night Shia Labeouf broke the silence of Lucasfilm, to reveal the title for the new Indiana Jones movie....

'Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull'

But what does this mean for our favourite Archaeologist/Hero? What will he be up against? Where will he be going? Most importantly... what is the 'Crystal Skull'?

Well there are actually 13 crystal skulls, all thought to be (on average) around 20,000 years old. Investigations into one of the existing crystal skulls garnered startling revelations. The skull itself had its age proven, yet the workmanship of it defies the technology...

"INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL" (2008) Review

As much as I enjoyed the last installment of the INDIANA JONES saga - 2008's "KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL", I had found myself perplexed by it. There was something about its tone that did not strike a similar chord, in compare to the other three movies. It took a second viewing of the movie for me to understand not only the movie’s story, but its entire atmosphere. And it had a lot to do with its setting.

"INDIANA JONES AND THE KINGDOM OF THE CRYSTAL SKULL" is set in 1957. In the movie, Colonel-Doctor Irina Spalko (Cate Blanchett)...

He's back...
Not long ago it seemed like any prospect of a 4th Indiana Jones movie had been boxed up and filed away in a warehouse somewhere, left to rot along with the long forgotten Ark of the Covenant. But, thankfully that is not so, and come next summer we'll be back in Indy's world again, and I, for one, am very excited.

At this point only news of shortround making a return appearance could top my already dangerous excitement levels, but then I found out that Spielberg and Lucas had filed for the copyright on 6 titles... whether these are all potential movie titles is not clear, as there are gonna be...

Nobody knows what the actual title is going to be yet but let's just say that this movie is probably going to be very awesome! After Harrisson Ford, we've read about A LOT of rumours about who would be the next Indiana Jones. So far, I've heard rumours about Disney casting Chris Pratt (Guardians of the Galaxy and The Lego Movie) may be cast as everyone's favourite archaeologist and I've also heard shocking rumours about Indie possibly being played by a woman! For the movie Jonathan Kasdan is taking over the role of writer from David Koepp. This is the movie that all Indiana Jones fans- new and old- have been waiting for! the exact date for release or the actual title of the movie hasn't been released yet so until then, there's nothing more that I can say other than that it's going to be a great movie!

Got some updates for Indiana Jones and the Search for a Decent Title, so here we go...........

O9ne of the proposed titles I identified through my soapbox was Indiana Jones and the City of the Gods (referring to Atlantis, which is long fabled to be the location of Mount Olympus... amongst other things). However, this title was half officially announced as THE title only a few months ago.... which has lead to a raft of fan made trailers using that title (see the vids section of the Indy Spot).

But in todays increasingly media savvy world those cheeky creators often lead us down the wrong path,...

"INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE" (1989) Review

After a mixed reaction to the darker tones of 1984's "INDIANA JONES AND THE TEMPLE OF DOOM", George Lucas and Steven Spielberg decided to compensate by ending what was then planned their Indiana Jones trilogy with a movie lighter in tone. The result of this decision is the 1989 movie, "INDIANA JONES AND THE LAST CRUSADE".

The movie began with a prologue set in 1912 with a 13 year-old Indiana Jones riding with his Boy Scout troop in Utah. He stumbles across some robbers in a cave finding an ornamental cross that once belonged to Spanish explorer...

So, as fans of the massively successful Indiana Jones franchise we finally got our wish.... Indy emerged, seemingly uscathed, from a journey as fraught with danger as the Mine Cart ride in Temple of Doom... a journey through development hell. But as his journey ended ours began... Indiana Jones' Fans and the Search for the Truth.

With the announcement that there would be a 4th installment of this ever popular franchise, we were (finally) able to breathe a sigh of relief. But not for long, as the rumours began to fly about Indy's latest adventure... what will he be after? will there be Nazis?...
