HugeEgoSorry As interesting as this sounds, I don't think Cuddy was at Broken at all. For reality reason such as Lisa was news to be still on vacation as Hugh and some of the gang are filming. Maybe it was just an extra or some brunette patient, I don't know I just don't think its Cuddy. This revelation though somehow made me feel creepy. lols

playingcold Wow, I saw her too. And at first I thought that she is not Cuddy but she REPRESENTS her - she was blurry because House was detoxing and couldn't "see" her clearly. But then I thought that it was only a coincidence. Now, I'm not sure :))))

LipschitzWrath See, that's my hangup with the whole thing. I slo-mo'd it and advanced frame by frame and I'm about 95% sure that it is indeed Cuddy. However, my qualm is whether or not she's real. I mean, it wouldn't be much of a stretch for House to be hallucinating her at that point (although Amber and Kutner had been his prime hallucinatory objects up until then), but then again, I don't think it'd be a huge stretch for her to go there and see him either. I don't know, but I wanted to see if anyone else was thinking along the same lines as me...

However, my hyper logic says if this were the case...I'm thinking it would have been more overtly intentional. I'm not sure they would have gone to the trouble to have hidden or mystery flash frames of Cuddy without a more exact purpose - relayed or conveyed more directly to us the viewer. Sounds slightly conspiratorial. Cool.

LipschitzWrath @Bluehue I agree that I may be looking too much into this. This is why I was so hesitant to pose the question in the first place. I know the Huddy inside of me wants it to be true, regardless of whether or not it is. HOWEVER, I guess the question then becomes who in the hell was that? While I agree that Cuddy's placement would make more sense if it was more noticeable, I also believe that the reverse holds true. TBH, I noticed this "mystery" person the first time I saw the episode. If it isn't Cuddy, then who the hell is it? I find it hard to believe that they would have just stuck some random person in there that didn't relate to the situation at all.

bluehue LW: Never hesitate to express thyself 'round here. Honestly, I've only viewed Broken 1X & don't have any S6 eps yet..so I am not in a position to refute. My own inner logic, whatever that is, makes me question why-for? Unless or until you post frame by frame slo-mo vid evidence for us to scrutinize, I will stay open to your supposition...and wait to have a look-see myself. You could always text LE and ask her...if so, be sure to get back with us. Ha.

LipschitzWrath I can't get on youtube here at work or I might try posting it in super slo-mo frame-by-frame. You can get a pretty good look at her doing that. And as for your comment about making you question "why-for", I am totally with you on that. That's why I was soliciting other peoples' opinions. I took a studies in film course in high school where we basically watched movies and then broke them down, questioning why the director did this or that. I'll never be the same ;-). Which is why this has me so spun up - if it was Cuddy, why did they put her there? Similarly, if it isn't Cuddy, who is it and why are THEY there? As far as texting LE, I would totally go for that if I thought that she would believe I wasn't just another crazed stalker/fan. And if that were true, I'd totally try and get her to go on a date with me. An unmarried 40-something hottie with no kids? That is, my friends, what I call a cougar! And I do have an affinity for the older ladies ;-) (Remember, I'm a dude) Of course, I'd have to get Hugh Laurie's permission first!

Delia_Beatrice I completely (that is to say, COMPLETELY) understand why you want to think that Cuddy was in "Broken", even in the form of another hallucination. The complete lack of any remote reference to her in "Broken" struck me not only as unbelievably unfair to all Huddy fans and the whole Huddy story, but also as just plain weird - how could House force her out of his mind completely, how could he not mention her once to Dr. Nolan etc?... Let alone the whole "how could he get so emotionally involved with Lydia" question, to which i have heard a lot of responses, all of them true and accurate, but none of them capable to ease my frustration to the fact that we got to see House being intimate and tender and open to a stranger, after five years in which we did not get to see anything remotely similar with Cuddy... Yes, yes, i know all the theories and the answers to this one, but nothing makes it seem fair, though. Definitely NOT in the first episode since BSN... Well, that taken off my chest, i wanted to add this: if that was really her (and i wish that were true...), why was it never mentioned in the thousand interviews given by everybody at the premiere, in the thousand reviews given to "Broken" since then? It would have been a great thing to talk about, Lisa would have surely talked about it, and even the producers and writers etc - it would have been a way to ease the Huddy fans' anger, why would they never mention it?

bluehue LW: I thought about your idea/article while walking my dog this morning. It would really be something - if your analysis is correct. & we do see a Cuddy memory flash back in her upcoming ep..as she thinks of the “men in her life”. She is looking thru that little window at House & we are saddened to realize that it was just all to painful for her. (P.S. Forgive my teasing). Delia: We can imagine a hundred scenarios for Cuddy to have played a part in "Broken” at Mayfield. A lost opportunity that hurts & frustrates...and didn't make sense to me either. At least Wilson got a phone call. House's wrenching line.."But that's not what happened, you HELPED me," could have then connected so beautifully with Cuddy's long standing protectorship, in her role as safekeeper of House. (Damn it). Maybe it's not too late. House could still talk to Dr. Noland about his feelings for Cuddy considering his therapy & recovery mode seems to be ongoing.

LipschitzWrath @Bluehue Agreed. I mean she looks like she is crying in the brief second or two you see her. It makes you wonder if she was there to see how he was doing. Or maybe she was going to visit him and the sight of him was unbearable. Another thought that crossed my mind when I read an article debating when Cuddy and Lucas got together. I know a lot of people think it happened after House somewhat brushed her off in Epic Fail, but this could be another possible time. Maybe when she saw him in such a pathetic state at Mayfield, that's when she gave up on him. Just my $0.02. Don't worry about the teasing, I take it very well. I took no offense to it.

Delia_Beatrice Noooooo... She would not have given up on him because of that. Cuddy stood by him through the worst possible times of his life, his pain and what he had to go through at Mayfield would have made her even more protective. I think that the lack of Cuddy in "Broken" is explained by House's attitude in "Epic Fail". He was so scared of not keeping his sanity if he went back to the exact same context, that all he wanted when he got out was run away and hide. In regard to Cuddy, not only did he want to run away from PPTH and everything within, but he must have thought that she would not want to have anything to do with him, and once again, he pushed her away because he could not handle rejection. When he dropped the knife in "Epic Fail", after she said she would miss him, he is positively amased to see that she still openly cares for him. I am one of those who believe that Cuddy started dating Lucas after "Epic Fail". I think she waited for him to come back from Mayfield (that is the only scenario that seems consistent with Cuddy's long term complete loyalty to House) and they were the victims of fear and lack of communication and bad timing again - when will that stop, i wonder...

bluehue Delia: Your time line of star-crossed happenstance for Huddy does seem more likely. House was/is anxious & worried about slipping backwards in coping with his leg pain, tho it was as much taking Dr. Noland's advise as a sense of him wanting to "run or hide." When House was on the back of the bus pulling away from Mayfield, that wide bright smile that appeared made me think House was ready for anything now. But some of that "now" It is all in a tangle - thanks to Lucas. He started fresh by testing the waters of PPTH, the wait for his license renewal, reassembling a team etc. I guess we are simply witnessing House getting back to “normal,” seeing what falls back into place or changes. I only viewed Epic Fail once..so it is not fresh in mind, tho I love that you suggest House dropped the knife when he realized Cuddy would miss him or still think of him. So, he must care about Cuddy enough to have examined the impact of his drugged out behavior over those months at Mayfield I hadn't thought about House thinking Cuddy could never forgive him for those actions, and his surprise at learning that, must seem like renewed hope for him and for us.
