House walked into Wilson's office the next day with a smirk on his face. Wilson could only assume he did something he wasn't supposed to. "What did you do?"
"Nothing, I'm hurt you would accuse such a thing," House said clutching his chest as if wounded.
Wilson rolled his eyes, "then why the smirk?"
"Because, I know this is gonna sound crazy, but I slept with Cuddy last night."
Wilson looked shocked "What?! Please tell me you aren't hallucinating again."
"No I'm not Jimmy boy. You can ask her yourself, but then again she would probably deny it."
"But what about Lucas?"
"She broke up with him yesterday as did I with Lydia yesterday also."
"Ok...I will take your word for it. Let's get lunch."
"Your buying," House said with a smirk.
"Oh of course," said Wilson sarcastically.

Cuddy was in her office thinking of what to say to Lucas. She had finally gotten a hold of him and convinced him to meet her for lunch. She wasn't quite sure what to say to him. He hadn't seemed upset as yesterday so that was a good thing. Hearing a knock on her door she looked up and saw Lucas. She waved him in and asked him to take a seat.
"I thought we were having lunch," he asked.
"Oh...um...sure let's just go to the cafeteria," she said getting up from her seat.
As they were walking through the lobby she felt his hand snake in her. She turned and looked at him shocked and was going to pull her hand away, but he said, "Just one last time." She just nodded not knowing how to respond.
As they were standing in line getting their lunches he still wouldn't let go. The cashier made a comment how cute they were, but Cuddy just looked away with a frown. Lucas was quick to agree and Cuddy looked at him with an upcast eyebrow. She went to walk towards a table and he still wouldn't let go of her hand. She looked at him and said, "You can let go now." He slipped his hand out of hers and followed her to the table.

Meanwhile across the cafeteria Wilson and House were eating lunch. House's back was facing the cafeteria doors so he didn't see Lucas and Cuddy come in, but Wilson had.
"Are you sure they broke up," Wilson asked suspiciously.
"Yeah why?"
"Because they just walked in here hand in hand," said Wilson as he gestured towards them. House turned around and frowned. He didn't like that one bit.
"It did happen, but I have no idea what that's about. She said she had to talk to him, but I wasn't aware it included that." House was beyond mad and Wilson quickly picked up on it.
"House, maybe it's nothing. Maybe it was Lucas's idea," he suggested.
House was having none of it, "Then explain why she would go along with it."
"Well Cuddy is a caring person. Maybe she is letting him down easy," Wilson suggested.
"She already broke up with him and she wanted to talk." He turned and looked at them again. Lucas noticed him and smiled, waved, and slid his hand across the table onto Cuddy's. House couldn't take it.
"I can't watch this. Apparently she just wanted to test if I was still going to stick around." He quickly got up and limped out of the cafeteria as fast as he could. Wilson watched him go and shook his head. He didn't know what Cuddy's plan was, but it wasn't helping matters when it came to House. He got up and walked right past her causing her to look up.
She looked at him shocked not knowing that he had been here, and if he was it meant House was also. She looked around the cafeteria and didn't see him and sighed in relief. Lucas was being stubborn and suddenly decided he wanted to fight for their relationship when he had been so willing to give it up. She had enough.
"It's over Lucas," she quickly said as she stood up and left the cafeteria.

House was in his office sitting on his ottoman trying to figure out what was with Cuddy. First she wanted Lucas, then she wanted him, and now she was back to Lucas. Maybe letting Lydia go so easily had been a bad idea. He hadn't even known at the time if Cuddy was going to be sticking around.
"Apparently not," he whispered bitterly to himself.
"Talking to yourself again." He looked up shocked to see her. He hadn't even heard her come in. He looked down to hide the hurt and anger. He felt her sit down and resisted the urge to look up.
"I broke things off with Lucas," she finally said.
"Didn't look like it to me," he said coldly. Cuddy frowned sensing something was off.
"What do you mean," she asked confused.
So she hadn't known I was there. It was ok to do when I wasn't around, he thought bitterly.
"The hand holding. His happy little face and wave he gave me as if nothing was wrong." He still hadn't looked up.
Cuddy looked down. So he had been there. She knew Lucas had some alterior motive for the hand holding.
"Oh that," was all she could come up with.
"Yeah that," he said finally looking up. He regretted it instantly as all he saw was her downcast face covered in regret.
She breathed in deeply and finally looked up. She was surprised to see he had finally looked at her, but all she saw was hurt and anger in his eyes. Reaching out she brushed her hand across his cheek, but he instantly pulled away as if he had been burned. He tried to stand up and distance himself from her, but she stopped his actions.
"What Cuddy? You already hurt me enough. What more could you possibly want? I gave in and allowed myself to feel for you. You convinced me that you wanted me and not him and now you are going back and forth."
Cuddy looked down again. She finally figured out why he felt so hurt and angry. House took her look as meaning she felt guilty for toying with him. He was trying to get up, but once again she pushed him back down.
"House I choose you. Did you not hear me say that I broke up with him? All I want is you, and I promise I'm not going back and forth. I want you, not him." She grabbed both sides of his face and he didn't pull away which she took as a good sign.
House on the other hand wasn't convinced. After what he saw he couldn't believe what she was saying. He still couldn't understand why she had held hands with him. It seemed like such a small thing to be mad about, but there was so much more behind that little act. He looked her straight in the eye and asked, "So why did you allow him to hold hands with you? I think you did because you still have feeling for him and don't want to let him go."
She held his gaze and replied, "He wanted to hold hands for the last time and yes I still have feelings for him, but they aren't as strong as the feelings I have for you."
House looked away. He couldn't be with her if she had feeling for someone else. That would just be setting himself up to get hurt. He was sick of hurting. He finally was able to get up and walked out onto the outside balcony. Cuddy quickly got up and followed him.
"What's wrong?" It seemed like such a dumb question, but she felt the need to ask.
"I can't be with you if you have feelings for someone else. I'm done hurting and that would only be setting myself up to get hurt." He never turned to look at her. She wrapped her arms around him from behind and felt him tense in her embrace.
Sighing she said, "My feelings for him are basically the same feeling I have for Wilson. Just friends."
"Is that what you told him?"
"No. I told him it was over and walked out. He suddenly felt like he needed to fight for me."
House sighed, this may be his only chance to be with her and he didn't want to give her up this easy. Lucas would snatch her up right away. "Sounds like a losing battle for me," House stated as he turned in her arms.
Cuddy smiled up at him. "Really? Cause I think you have an advantage."
"And why is that?"
"You have me," she said with a smirk.
"Oh really," he said with raised eyebrows.
"Yup. And don't you forget it."
He chuckled. "I'll try not to."
Out of the corner of his eye he saw something move. He turned and looked just in time to see Wilson enter his office.
"Wilson help! She's molesting me," he yelled. Cuddy smacked him in the chest as Wilson looked up shocked. He smirked and walked away to see Cuddy blush furiously and wave to Wilson.
