This had been the one situation he wasn't expecting. The one scenario that seemed unreal-artificial.
Had it been that his mind was playing hallucinations on him again? This could not be happening. This cannot happen. This never happens. She wouldn't dare put herself in this position unless there was something else going on. She wanted to tell him, one more thing.
No.

One Week Prior
House found himself yet again awake. Four o'clock in the morning and he hadn't slept a wink. Since ten, he had constantly twisted his torso to turn around and take another glance at his clock. It changed with increments of sixty minutes. This had been the sixth time looking at the clock.
Unable to even close his eyes, he dragged himself out of bed. He was about to make his way to the bathroom for more sleeping pills but a knock sounded at the door. Only one person would grieve him like this at an ungodly hour.
He stopped in his tracks in the middle of the hallway as the knocks continued to echo throughout his house. The only reasonable way to stop them would be to answer the door, but know, he let the knocks continue, and walked into the bathroom.
After several knocks, a key thrust into the door, turning, and unlocking it.
Cuddy walked in, and set her keys on the table. She looked around. A scotch was left on the table, along with a partly finished cigar. She stepped into the hallway, slowly walking in the darkness. And after a few steps she had run into him.
"--God! You scared me. Why aren't you in bed, trying to sleep?"
"Couldn't."
"You take your pills?"
"Just took my third one tonight."
She slide down the wall and sat down with her knees up. She threw her head back against the wall.
He joined her. He slowly got down on the hardwood floor, being cautious of his leg. And they sat together, as their silhouettes formed in the dark
"How long."
"Nearly a week."
"You smell drunk."
"I thought it would help."
"You shouldn't go mixing alcohol with your drugs."
"It was hours ago."
"Regardless."
She couldn't see his face, but she knew what it looked like. So she put her hand on his shoulder, moving down, feeling for his hand. She lifted it from the floor and clasped it in her own. He overlapped it with his other as he sat up straight against the wall across from her.
"I know it's hard. I wish I could make things easier.."
"Don't think you ever could. Don't think anyone can. However, you lighten the load."
Suddenly he had removed one of his hands and gripped it over his leg. His face tensed and he quietly grunted in pain.
It may have been dark, but she still knew what was going on. So she reacted, standing up, and nagging him.
"Come on. Go back to bed."
"I can't even shut my eyes for a minute to save my life."
"Compromising you leg by sitting on the floor with me isn't gonna help either."
She bent down and helped him up, walking him into the bedroom.
He got in and she put the sheets over him. As he positioned his leg, she knelt down by his beside. She folded her arms and laid them across the side of the bed, and rested her chin on them.
"You gonna stay there all night?"
"If it helps."
"Go home. I don't need you here."
"You want me here."
"Wants are different than needs."
"Clearly."
She just looked at him, into the only things she could see. His beautiful blue eyes. She held his hand again.
"I'll be on the couch."
She stood up, about to release her grip, when he pulled her back. She just stood and stared at him, motionless.
He didn't respond. So she bent down again, so they were face to face.
"What?"
He leaned forward. Slowly. Resting his head first against hers, before lingering a deep kiss on her lips. She didn't respond at first, but after a couple seconds, she moved in. He rolled off the bed and onto the floor with her. He slowly laid her back against the wooden floor. She pulled off his shirt as he unbuttoned her blazer.
He lifted his head, and released. He just looked at her. She laughed softly.
"I can't believe we waited this long."
"I'm sorry I kept you waiting."

Cuddy walked into her office ready to start the morning. She set her stuff down and sat at her desk. She rumaged around for some papers and stumbled over a red box with a bow on it. She thaught it was weird seeing as she usually doesn’t get anything for Easter. She untied the bow and carefully opened the box. In it lay a little card that she would read at the end. She lifted the card up and set it aside so she could look at the present. There lay a little pair of red edible underwear under the gift wrap paper. She was serious at first and tried to be mad but then she smiled. She picked up...

Some poems by one of my favorite poets, Erich Fried.
Some of them are so Huddy, you will see ^^.
I hope you like them.
Some of them I had to translate myself.
Here's a little selection.
Enjoy

Compensation

To be able to breathe out
ones unhappiness

to breathe out deeply
so that one can
breathe in again

And perhaps being able to speak out
ones unhappiness
in words
in real words
which are connected together [coherent]
and make sense
and which oneself
still can understand
and which perhaps even
somebody else understands
or could understand

And to be able to cry

This again...

House took poured a glass of whisky, before he sat down on his sofa. Cuddy took her jacket and shoes off, before she sat down next to him.

Cuddy: Have you packed yet?

House: Wilson offered.

Cuddy: I can…help you pack.

House nodded in agreement, and smiled as she stood up and turned around to walk towards his bedroom.

Cuddy: I think you’d just need a few things at first.

House followed her, she sat on his bed as he stood there; glass of whisky in hand.

Cuddy: On second thought, you’re not the most co-operative of people, you may be there longer.

House: Here.

House handed her a weekend bag.

House:...

House found himself on the roof of the hospital when the dawn broke. He was in his gown, sitting on the very ledge. He was puffing on one of his cigars as the sun rose. It was so peaceful here. And he was feeling so serene. Until Wilson popped in.
"Mind if I take a drag?" He asked sarcastically. He was in the doorway, holding it halfway open. He stood there for about seven seconds before actually coming near him.
"Her mothers?"
"Cameron?"
"Cuddy."
"You showed her the ring?"
"Because you refused to."
"Damn it."
He took a long drag, causing a good amount of ashes to fall. They blew away when the morning...

"You're good with her." Cuddy said as she watched House rock Rachel in his arms.
"Well, she already marked her territiory once she puked all over my shirt so she's comfortable with me now."
Cuddy chuckled and moved to sit beside him on the sofa.
"You've been in my home for all of thirty minutes and have yet to tell me why you're here?"
House held Rachel out for Cuddy to take.
"Here. She's cooing for you." He said as he awkwardly passed the baby off and moved to stand up.
Cuddy rocked her baby a little before placing her in the basinet.
"...You got any food?" He asked.
Cuddy sighed and stood...

Three weeks later..

"OH. MY. GOD."
Wilson rubbed his face, irritated and slightly annoyed, having to have the same argument he had not too long ago.
"Don't. Listen to me, we had sex, again, unprotected at least three weeks ago."
"And why is that relevant?"
Cuddy wasn't listening to him. She was just thinking about what she should do.
"I don't know yet." She said curtly.
"Let me know when you do."
"He is becoming less and less of himself the longer he's with me."
"And that's bad because...?"
"It changes his way of thinking. His decisions. His actions. I don't want that to be because of me."
"You don't...

Tom-"Hmmm, what?"
House-"Nothing"
Tom-"Interested in her?"
House"Nope."
Tom-"I'll be right back."
House-"Wwwait, wait, where are you going?" *House said in a very concerned tone.*
Tom-"To get Lisa Cuddy."
Before House could say anything, Tom left to go get Lisa. House watched him as he confronted her, the 'ol so drunk Lisa Cuddy tried to step off of the table. Unfortunately, she was too drunk, and failed miserably. Her face hit the floor. Nobody noticed really, except for Tom and House. House still stood, not knowing whether to go over there or not. He decided he was just going to let her come to...
