House and Cuddy (and baby Rachael) had been living in the same home for the last three months. Cuddy's belly had now started protruding from her body, Rachael had started mumbling words, House was still as 'asshole-ish' as he always was. Christmas was only in a few weeks.
House, being the anti-social bum that he is, didn't want Cuddy to invite family and friends around. He just wanted to spend the day in bed with his love.
"Please, Lise, just you and me, in be for a whole day," he pleaded
"No, c'mon, we need to spend time getting to know each others families,"
"But I already know mine," he argued
"Who?"
"You and Rach,"
"Aww," she said affectionatly, "But still, no! We are going to have family and friends over, Greg"

************** CHRISTMAS DAY *********************

House rolled over at 5 in the morning. Quietly he slipped out of the bed as to not wake Cuddy. He picked up a small red, velvet box from inside a sock in his underwear drawer and made his way to the kitchen.

Cuddy woke up to the sweet smell of french toast. House limped his way into their bedroom. On top of the french toast was a cage of sugar and beneath that there was the velvet box.
Cuddy was curious. "What's this?"
"Merry Christmas," he said, giving her a kiss on the cheek.
Cuddy removed the cage and there was the box. She picked it up and opened it. House leaned in.
"Lisa Cuddy, will you marry me?"
