Cuddy was working exceptionally hard today with stacks of papers here and there. She was completely stressed out. The ER was extremely busy today, including the NICU. She was sorting out all these papers when House came in.
"Hi." She said accompanied with a sigh, but she hadn't looked up.
"Hands fall off yet?" he uttered with a sense of seriousness and sarcasm. She played along.
"They're close. Come back in ten minutes."
"Lunch?"
"Just, gimme a little bit."
"Wilson's coming too and you know how he is before he eats."
"You mean I know how YOU are before you eat."
"Yeah. But he is coming too."
"He doesn't mind."
"He's antsy when it comes to being late."
At that moment Wilson came in wearing his jacket ready to leave.
"We ready?"
"Give me a minute."
"I'm sorry honey but I don't have that power. I have others that are certainly pleasing."
"Oh shut up."
They both laughed and Wilson just listened to both of them with a smile on his face, staring at the floor.
"Okay let's go. We're taking my car."
"Shotgun!"
"Damn. She's my girlfriend."
"Yeah, but I'm paying."
"Yes."
They all walked out of her office and they all got into Cuddy's car and drove to the nearest restaurant.
"Where are we going?"
"Turn up here."
"It's new."
They all unbuckled their seat belts and got out, walking up to the front doors. At that moment, House got a page as they walked in.
"Damn."
"What?"
"Patient went into cardiac arrest. I got to get back. Just get whatever you want. It's on Wilson, I'll pay him back later. I'll pick you guys up later."
"Okay. Don't burn down the hospital."
"I'll try."
He kissed her on her forehead and slapped her ass as he walked out. When she turned around to look at him, he gave a wink and a smile.
"At least he's allowed to do that now. Reservation under House. Greg House."
They followed the waitress over to a table and they sat down looking over at their menus. Wilson put his down.
"Look--"
"We're obviously not here to eat. Go on."
She had put her menu down too.
"I'm sorry about the memo thing. Impulsive. I know. I wasn't thinking of your rep--"
"Forget it. It's fine."
"No but--"
"It's fine Wilson. We're fine."
She paused for a while.
"All I want to know is, how exactly you convinced him to do it."
"Wh--?"
"I've been meaning to ask you for quite a while now."
"Now's not the best time but--"
"When you have a quotient there's a reason you have it. The dividend was divided by the divisor. I need to know what the divisor is."
Wilson sighed and began to tell her the tale..
"Well, it all happened after he had yelled at you. Remember that one big fight you guys had? Well, he came into my office to cool off a bit and.."

House was leaning against the wall by the window in Wilson's office, staring at the rain as it poured down on the pavement. He was shutting his eyes tightly as Wilson gave a lecture to him.
"Stop fighting her."
"And spoil all the fun? Mom!?!"
"You're only pissing her off more. She probably hates your guts right now. Based off of the amount of decibels her voice was when I overheard her screaming at you."
"It was her fault in the first place."
"Don't go blaming this on her. You nearly killed that patient, you put the hospital's reputation at stake, yet again. You know you deserved to get all that yelling."
"For once, even for a little while, would it kill you to shut up?"
"Yes."
"Give me just a little bit to be angry. To hate her for a while."
"Hate her?"
"Yes. You know that one emotion where you despise a person with a complete passion? Yeah, hate."
"That's a pretty strong word."
"What I say is useless. I will hate her for a while and then I will get over it. It's a cycle."
"Just tell her you love her already."
"I can't."
"Why?"
House didn't say anything.
"The only way this could be difficult is if you didn't love her as much as she loves you. If she loves you more than--"
"Don't."
There was a long pause.
"I'm damned with this leg for the rest of my life. I've accepted that."
"Don't make this about--"
"Every day that I spend with her--it hurts a little less. I drink a little less, less vicodin intake. Everything's--"
"House, don't."
"She's taken away more pain than everything else. I love her and I wanna be with her, because it doesn't hurt--But this leg keeps me as a prisoner. Can you see me like this? Years from now? Can you see me as a father while being a cripple? A husband supporting a family?"
"House, we're talking about kids here. You're talking about kids here."
He collapsed on the couch,
"I know!"
"You're seriously--?"
"No."
"Well then--?"
"She wants a kid that is her own. She wants a little person who looks similar to her. Who has the same features, same genes, same annoying habits."
"Are you going to--?"
House just looked at him,
"How?"
"But would you--?"
"Yes."
"Because you?"
"Because she."
"And you haven't told her any of these things because?"
"'The most important things are hardest to say because words diminish them.'"
"Show her. Show her then. Ask her out and show her how much she means to you. Show her the things you hope for. And do it soon, I don't want another repeat of Love-Drama starring Gregory House and Lisa Cuddy."

"...And then he left."
Cuddy was lost in her thoughts..She was thinking about all the things he had said about her and about what he wanted and what he wanted for them..He cares..Deep down..He does care.
"Cuddy."
"He wants kids? I don't--He wants to--?"
"I could answer your questions if you actually finished them."
"So he's dead serious--about everything. Us."
"Apparently."
"Is this some sick twisted joke between you two because if it is--"
"It's not."
"How do I know you're not lying?"
There was a pause. Wilson looked down and back up at her and said,
"I swear on Amber's grave."
Cuddy just looked at him with a sense of compassion as his eyes we're slightly watery.
"Wilson--"
"It's fine. I'd do anything to convince you. Anything to prove to you that he is changing. He's making changes, not for the better, or for himself or others, but for you."
They said nothing for what seemed like forever. Then Wilson spoke again.
"He's still a major ass. He always will be. But, as long as you're around, he's showing a sense of humanity. As long as you're around, he's sane. As long as you're around--"
"He's a better son of a bitch. Yeah, I got that."
There was a silence for about a couple seconds...
"So did he ever really ask you? Or was it all just...implied?"
"Well...we went back to my place...."

Okay, this poem is basically in Cuddy's POV kind of to House. I wrote it to be kind of Cuddy's personal thing, but of course, it turned into Huddy. My first article on this spot AND Huddy poem, so please tell me what you think! It's short and might be a bit confusing at first, but here it goes;
Love.
And that's all I ever wanted.
How did I get here?
Just crying in an empty room
Once again a vacant world to me
I'm hurting and I'm sure you know
I hope, and that's just what i do
That the world could be, just be
What i want it to, another happy ending
Which we both know it won't be
Just hold me, so for a second
I could pretend it is
Could pretend it can
Pretend it could be
And maybe I could love you
And pretend i didn't know
That it was one of the few things
I was missing.
I know it kind of sucks, but it's my first and what do you expect?
Love.
