tsk tsk, how can you not love her?

Yeah, she's just ok. I don't hate her, but I don't think she's a great character either. Hiccup deserves better!

I hate she ALOT

I think she get's way more credit then she deserves. What I mean is she does nothing better then any of the others, yet we the viewers are supposed to believe she's a warrior because she swings an axe once in a while, and not when it's important I might add.Seriously strong Viking warrior maybe if she ever actually contributed to a fight more significantly then anyone else, or at all for that matter! Watch the first HTTYD the big climactic fight scene against the queen where everyone else is trying their best at what they can, but what does she do, nothing except tell everyone else to get their butts burned off and get saved by Hiccup. This isn't an issue just in the first one either In HTTYD 2 once again the middle battle were the two bewilderbeasts are fighting and everyone else is fighting doing what they can, Astrid isn't. No instead of using all this dragon knowledge and "battle" skills she claims to know in the middle of a dragon war, the perfect time to use it! She instead decides this would be a great time for Eret to take the reins and experience the joys of riding a dragon, in the middle of a war, yay Erets doing everything not her, Also all at a very bad time. I realize some may argue "well in the series she fights". Which I would say she still doesn't deserve all that credit, everyone contributes about the same in the series, what Astrid does really isn't more significant then what anyone else is doing. Not to mention she can be pretty mean to the other protagonists for no real reason. Which is why when ever they try to portray her as "caring" to anyone other than Hiccup, Stormfly, or Toothless it always leaves a bitter unbelievable taste for me.On top of all that she's a boring character, at least now she is. Before in the first one even though I don't care for her their either seeing as to me she comes off as a pointless love interest, I could still give her some acknowledgement because her emotions such as jealously came off genuine. Heck even though I despise this character my favorite scenes from her are the one from Gift of the night fury, (Which i'll say Gift of the night fury probably has the best represintation of all the characters out of everything in my opinion) because their she felt genuine and was actually having some dilemmas while trying to reach her goal. But by the time the series aired and HTTYD 2 came around all that goes right out the window. Once those come around she has no real problems no emotional turmoils that could actually get me invested in her or even believe her as a character. Nope she does all these crazy impressive stunts just cause, she just has all the answers cause. She's just a great character because the writers say so. I dislike Astrid as a character because I simply can not believe her as a character she just get's everything handed to her, we never see her do anything to deserve all her praises or strengths she just has them. I'm sorry to anyone who enjoys her character good for you that's fine, this is just my opinon and reasons for my opinion. Also apologizes for the length thank you.

I don't think about her

I hate Astrid for many reasons and one of which is she doesn't like to be wrong to the point where it Gets people so riled up that i legit want to jump through the screen and strangle her. In race to the edge Ruffnut confronts Astrid about it and in my head i'm think DAMN STRAIGHT cause its true. She doesn't give any credit to anybody, she doesn't give a dam about anybody except herself and I half a strong feeling she's using hiccup. She didn't care for his well being in the first movie, AND ALL OF THE SUDDEN SHE CARES?!!!! HMMM I WONDER WHY MAYBE ITS CAUSE HICCUP IS COMING TO THE POINT WHERE HE'S GETTING CLOSER TO THE AGE OF BEING THE CHIEF, AND SHE DOESN'T GIVE ANYBODY ANY RESPECT, I HATE HER FROM THE DEEPEST DEPTHS OF THE EARTH AND BACK AND I TRULY FEEL BAD FOR HICCUP FOR HAVING TO DEAL WITH HER. This is my opinion so please don't get offended.
