I think that was because PI Lucas was a much more relaxed guy who wasn't emotionally invested in House. PI Lucas was so happy-go-lucky, so I reckon he probably has really natural, easy-going relationships with everyone he meets! LOL!

I figure it's because House needed someone to 'replace' Wilson until their relationship was restored well enough to go back to their usual relationship. Besides, I don't think you could get a tighter bond between House if it weren't for Wilson (and even sometimes Cuddy from the way the dynamic of Wilson/Cuddy's works. :D
