its like sci-fi action
but not weird sci-fi like star trek ;)
it pretty much show ordinary people who dicover that they have extraordinary abilities and how they deal with it and get used to their powers. but when it gets later on in the series you see how some of them connect to each other and it really gets into the difference between a hero & a villain and how every hero can have a villain inside them. and yeah know thats heroes in a nutshell. its much more interesting,intense and complicated ;)
