Hey,
as some of you might know I became really attached to the character of Remy "Thirteen" Hadley, the woman with the most tragic fate on House MD.
Now that I read the new spoiler, which said that House will fire Thirteen in the fifth episode of season 5, I wasn´t very pleased, as you might imagine.
After I was over the first shock, some thoughts came to my mind and I decided to share them with you.
The spoiler was found in a top tv magazine in Italy, which is said to be very trustable.
The first thing that came to my mind when I heardabout it, was that it is of course because of her terrible disease.
Scenario: House finds out that she carries the gene for huntington and therefore fires her.
That would make sense for any normal doctor, since no one knows when the first symptoms will show up and if it is during a surgery or something, the lifes of patient´s are in danger.
We all know that House tends to think differently. (*gg*)
And to be honest, I don´t know what he would do with a member of his team that has such a dangerous disease. I don´t arrogate it to myself that I know him well enough to predict what he would do, fire her or keep her in his team.
Anyway, the longer I thought about it, the more I came to the conclusion that we can´t be sure that it has anything to do with her disease! There could be a complete different reason as well.
Maybe she did something we don´t know yet. She could have endangered a patient´s life, she could have made a mistake which was heavier than not watching a man taking his pills, a mistake that House couldn´t condone.
It doesn´t have to be a medical reason. There has been the theory that she will fall in love with Wilson and that would piss House off, so he simply fires her to keep her away from him.
I don´t think that´s very likely to happen, but I had this thought and I wrote it down.
There is also the possibility that she didn´t do anything! Just remember how House fired Chase in the finale of season 3, did Chase make anything wrong? Did House have a good reason? I don´t think so.
Another thought which came to my mind at this moment:
Normally, if people do something wrong in their job, make a big mistake wherefore they know they can be fired, they resign before getting fired.
We saw Thirteen in 2 situations, in which she thought she wasn´t the right one for the job.
1. It was her fault that the patient with the dog died, because she didn´t watch him taking the pills and she expected to be fired.
She said to House: "Fire me already!"
(Well, she couldn´t have resigned, because she wasn´t really hired at that point)
2. Immediately after House found out that she had a 50% chance to have huntington´s, she told him that she would resign.
So, now the question is: Why will she be fired? Why doesn´t she resign like she would have done before?
A possible explanation is that she wasn´t aware of any faults.
Then it would be a similar situation as with Chase in season 3, and possibly there will be a bigger chance then that he hires her again as if she had done something real bad.
The second interesting part beside the why is the question wether it is a final decision or wether she will be hired again.
This question is very important for Thirteen-fans, therefore very important for me too. :(
It´s a yes or no question which will decide wether one of my 3 favourite characters will leave the show after a few more episodes or not.
Basically I have to say that I was prepared to see her leave the show in the season 5 finale or so, but I didn´t expect her leaving that early! :(
Reasons why it could be a final decision:
-There has been quite a lot of firing and rehiring in season 4. That can´t go on forever.
-She has huntington´s , sooner or later they have to get rid of her...probably. :( *sighs*
Reasons why she could be rehired again:
-A major character leaving the show is ALWAYS a big thing, I can´t see why we already know it through a magazine. I think they would do everything to keep the big things a secret, so that we are surprised, when they actually happen.
Maybe they wanted to shock us with that, and in reality, it´s just a minor thing and she will be rehired soon.
Anyway, they managed to scare me...thanks..
-I became suspicious because it is so early. There will be 24 episodes (at least I think so) and why should they make her, (a rather new character!) leave after only 5 episodes? Why not later?
So I really hope that she won´t leave after 5 episodes or so...but we are going to see.
And whatever is going to happen, in my point of view Thirteen is an amazing character and I´m so sorry for her having huntington´s, it must be terrible. I thought of her past, of her as a young girl watching her mother die and knowing that this could be her future as well.
Not knowing wether you have a deadly disease is a heavy burden which is always on your mind and you can´t get rid of it, when you are too afraid to find out.
And I completely understand her fear of making the test, because it was a 50% (!) chance that she would loose her last hopes and I´m so sorry that this actually happened.
She´s only a fictional character, but I can emphatize with her so much. :[

I´m sorry for any mistakes I made...
Here I am,
So close, but so far from you.
In the cold I am standing,
Outside your stone brick wall
I cannot break through.
So I just stand there foolishly,
Peering through your window.
Loosing myself in your deep blue eyes,
My eyes fixed on your broken smile,
You are simply all I desire.
The pain inside floods me,
I am drowning in my misery.
But when I see your face, it all seems to fade,
And when I taste your red lips,
My heart skips a beat
As the rest of me goes numb.
The love I feel for you is real
But so are fears of hurting you.
So all emotions are pushed aside,
Right next to all the tears I’ve cried.
In this life of wrong I live,
You remain the one thing I got right,
The only one I let inside.
Now heartache and hate has filled its place,
And I never want your smile
To fall from your face.

Hi,
This isn't that interesting really, it just made me smile today.
I'm a fan of 13. more on that later though.
I work in the security industry (malware, viruses, all that jazz).
I bet you're all familiar with spam emails, right?
Now we have this 'saying' in the industry that you ain't someone just yet until you're used for spam.
What's funny is that OW made her spam debut earlier this year: link
see Figure 2. LOL.
I've been thinking of sharing this to her through Twitter, but since she's not following me *sob* i can't send it as a direct message. I can't just address it to her cause then all my other followers (officemates mostly) will know that I am happy about spam, which is not so good in my line for work. :p
So there. I hope I didn't bore anyone with this. I know most of you are younger than me and not really interested with work stuff, but it was just too fun to not share, at least for me. :)
