maszatka I don't think money is the main reason either. I think it's rather the fact that they don't respect her enough and it could be hurtful for her. i mean just imagine how it feel that you are a leading lady, you make a lot of PR work and damage control whenever the show needs it, you support the show in any possible way, you give everything into a job and yet they cut only your salary and another person's. it's humiliating. so I think it would be some kind of revenge if FOX and NBC are going to her and begging for a new contract which is fitting for Lisa.

LaurieLover OH for the LOVE of…… SERIOUSLY!! LE was NOT the only one to take a "pay cut". Omar AND RSL also took pay cuts and thing is they had the integrity to man up and get the job done. They are also proud enough to keep their woes to themselves! So first it’s because she did the Abortion PSA, then it was some sort of “skulduggery” BTS by TPTB, Fox, their “advertisers” & NBCU that were victimizing and marginalizing LE, then creative differences about her character and finally, my personal favourite unrequited love! Now it is that they don’t respect her. Well incase you were unaware………RESPECT is earned!!! WHEN are people going to accept that it is about MONEY? No matter which way you paint it, or try and pretty it up. Not because she has anything else to go to. DON’T allow your obsession with her to cloud your judgement! If you are no longer a child then logical thought is something you can exercise!!! Stop looking to blame someone for what SHE decided. She is also NOT the leading lady if she was then she would no doubt have been earning what Hugh is, or at least close to it. But she never has or will! Hugh Laurie is the LEAD the rest are an ensemble cast. And if you care to watch the series from S1 you will see that in every epi, she has the least screen time of the lot and always has had. There are only a few exceptions like 5 to 9, Lockdown, a few others and then the epi's involving Huddy and that is out of 155 episodes! LE is NOT the best actress in Hollywood...far from it. But she made her mark on this show as the character of Cuddy so one would think she had enough integrity to get the job done no matter what. Or was all the gushing she did about it just lip service? As @Misanthrope says LE chose to leave, they offered her what I am sure was a reasonable contract, one SHE rejected. It is not as if her salary has dropped from $8 million to $2 million. And what about Omar and Robert don't they deserve EVERYTHING AND ANYTHING they want, since they are more vital to House M.D. Cuddy has served her purpose! I agree lets "tweet bomb" and "Ball & Thong" HER for BAD FORM!! Also every other cast member has done their fair share of PR for the show. No one more than Hugh himself, because HE is the one people are interested in. Talk shows, panel forums, magazine articles etc. AND any damage control LE did was because of things SHE said in the press or interviews that set fans on a path to obviously incorrect conclusions. If she gets a new contract and takes it she has NO integrity nor has she shown any solidarity with the other actors (OE & RSL) who have accepted pay cuts. But their loyalty, integrity and professionalism have ensured they are there to see House go out with a BANG. If you are angry, feel betrayed, disappointed, let down and anything else you may be feeling, ALL that emotion shoud be directed at LE. SHe is the one letting the fans down! She decided to leave so let her go and TPTB can get on with S8.

If you want people to buy into your melo-drama you need to give them ALL the info. C’mon now, don't be vague and then hide behind unsaid, unused or apparent unknown info. You are not affraid to mention LE in every breath, why not afford OE & RSL the same courtesy. If you are going to mention names, shit mention them ALL!! If you are going to use the “pay cut” as a reason include ALL the players. If it is about respect, then surely OE & RSL in fact the entire cast, crew and TPTB deserve the same consideration not only from their “colleagues” but from fans too. Yes, everyone has the right to either participate or abstain but don't motivate your initiative with inaccurate info and emotion. Don't be selective when it comes to what info you are using. caramelmilk Like you said, we don't know every detail and I feel like we don't know nearly enough about the money, FOX, NBC and Lisa's private life to be able to tell why exactly she chose to leave and not return for the final season. I'm quite sure LE was aware of the fact that many people would miss her on the show but she chose to leave anyways. Because it's her life. Of course I'd love to have her back but I feel like there is nothing we, the fans, can do because we don't make the decisions. It's not about "giving up", it's about accepting what has happened although it sucks. What rubs me the wrong way is all this comparing and talking about who deserves to stay on the show and so on. Some made more PR, some less-in the end it doesn't matter, they are all great actors and they all do their jobs. If they can work out a better contract it won't be because of us fans. They do what they want to do and can do regardless of what ~100 obsessed Cuddy lovers scream.

maszatka a few weeks ago when it was about renewing the show, LE said she wants a season 8 and she wants to be there. KJ said she will do anything possible to get Lisa for a season 8. and now a few weeks later, Lisa said she was disappointed that she wouldn't come back (however she said she would move on too). I agree with you that it's her life. it's not about winning her back no matter what. it's about try to give her better conditions, the ones she would be satisfied with because by her comments on the case it seems she is not so happy with the current situation either. it's not forcing her into it, it's just about the opportunity: if it works and FOX offers her a better contract she still can decide if she accepts it or leaves. solo1861 I might be wrong but I don't think RSL took a pay cut; he reduce his time screen(18 episode I think) but not his salary per episode. And considering he spend a lot of time in Broadway it might not even be a big deal for him. So it's only Omar Epps. And probably Jesse Spencer if he decide to sign. Without knowing how much the pay cut was it's difficult to say if she's being greedy or if she made the right choice.
