Episode 1: All Isn’t Lost

Moments were a scarce feature in the winter. Mostly, the time passed quickly. Days moved through time with a definite purpose and overwhelming guilt. Snow blanketed over streets and railways and bus stop benches, heaven had never been so beautiful. But this was Chicago, and winter had its kryptonite.
Along the alleyway the snow pilled in dirt ridden clumps and around the multiple tracks of ambulance tires. Footprints delved into the softness every few inches, yet the snow seemed…unharmed. Moving in and out of synchrony, figures stirred about, still disturbing father winter. Heads succeeded down, into scarves and hats, away from the brisk that was a bi-product of the snow. Pairs of eyes closed, each of which grew into a different thought, then opened to the bitterness again, losing that glimpse of hope.
Around the corner, the main street was littered with cars, trucks, buses, women in high heels running as fast as they possibly could across the walkway. Men in suits casually strolled along, sneering under their breath at the women in high heels and their long legs. The noise was chaotic. Horns, cell phones, revving engines, and sirens rang like bells on a Sunday wedding through the think, flurry filled air.
The sirens grew in sound, slowly, then quickly getting louder with each block passed. Patrons of the city knew this all too well, it played out like a perfect test. The cars and trucks and buses all steered to the curb, where they would patiently wait for the ambulance to pass. Little by little, the vehicles would move back into position on the four-laned road. It wasn’t until the rig began to glide toward the turn that surrounding people noticed something was wrong.
The ambulance was just feet from the turn into the alleyway. As it turned it went up on its right two wheels, hung, forever it seemed, in the air, then at an alarming speed crashed violently into another parked ambulance. A sound echoed through the bay, followed by a light and heat that lit up the area…then, all…went…quiet.

This was the County General Teaching Hospital. And THIS, was just another morning.

The third floor was unusually quiet. Cuddy walked in stride from the far elevator. Her knee length skit moved in tone with the muscles of her legs, while the soft, violet sweater plunged down away from her neckline leading to where her ruby pendent necklace sat. The high heels made a knocking sound as they kept in time with tempo. She stopped when she reached a glass door about half way down the hall. Inside, she only saw a shoe of the corner of her eye. It rested on a tan, corduroy foot rest. She rolled her eyes pushed open the glass door. As it swung open 110 degrees, it hit the wall behind it, creating an especially loud crash. This woke House, who jumped from the chair with a grunt.
He eyed her from the very top of her dark brown curly hair to the very tip of her black high heels. Tilting his head in just the slightest he spoke,
“I’ve got the key to the on-call room...and I’m pretty sure the sheets are fairly clean, but in case they aren’t, ill let you be on top.â€
She opened her mouth for a clever retort, but simply sighed instead.
“Go to the ER to help.†Not saying or insinuating anything further, she turned to leave.
“Wait, wait, wait.†He lifted his bad leg off of the foot rest and onto the ground and stood up beside her.
He was about a foot taller then her, yet she controlled the tension.
â€œThis isn’t even…†He eyed her again from head to toe. “Well, I was gonna say this isn’t even worth you coming up here just to have me say no, but that hardly seems like the case now that I’ve seen…that.†His eyes stopped just where her necklace sat. “Tell Carter to deal with it.†Turning back toward the chair, he grabbed his cane and began walking toward his desk and away from Cuddy.
â€œThe ER is slammed, House. Carter is trying to run that chaotic mess of a blizzard we have going on, and you aren’t doing anything but sleeping and dreaming of me.†“It’s the ER, or a month of clinic duty.†Cuddy knew how his mind ran; an ultimatum was the best possible choice to give.
Now, it was House that sighed. He said, not bothering to turn around, “Fine, ill go to the ER…†He than moved toward her, she was so taken aback that she had to take a step back from him. “…I’ll leave you here to figure out a fun way to make it up to me.â€
The door again broke into a sound on the pane as it swung from force. Cuddy was left alone in the room with a satisfied look now showing from her smile. Around the corner, she could hear the beeping of the elevator as it landed on the floor for pickup. Again, it sounded as the doors closed.
The ride down was an escape scheme for House. It was his precious few seconds to figure out how to get out of having to go to the ER. Keeping his head down, staring at the hard tile floor of the elevator, he thought. A ring again sounded notifying the occupants of their arrival to the floor. He was out of time. As the doors opened, it seemed like time sped up ten times.
Gurneys lined the halls, most with yelping patients in them, screaming for assistance. Gloves, masks and the occasional sterile drape littered themselves around the gurneys. Doctors and nurses ran, not walked through the jammed area, on missions, each of which House was sure he did not want to partake in.
House felt a breeze in his hair as 2 doctors and a nurse ran a gurney past him. One doctor was strattleing the patient doing CPR while the other doctor was squeezing the ambu bag while pushing the cart with his free hand.
â€œHey House, we could use you in here!†A familiar voice renounced in the open hall. It faded as the cart strolled away. House reluctantly followed the screech of the voice.
He found himself entering a room with double doors that swung both ways with large capital writing on it that stated: TRIAGE ROOM 3.
â€œOne, Two, Three…†The two doctors and the nurse heaved the patient onto the stationary guyney in the room.
â€œG.S.W. to the mid-abdominal cavity, two liters out on the scene, intubated and CPR started after desating to 67% then going into V-Tach.†House had yet to fully come into the room. The familiar voice spoke again, “OK, crash cart, lets charge to 200!...Clear…†everyone held up their hand as the one word was spoken. “Still in V-Tach!†“Charge to 250…Clear…†The patient jolted up from the electricity. “Back in sinus rhythm, Carter.†“Good, now I want four units type specific, get a full chest, neck, and abdominal series, 12 lead, full blood work up with BMP and Creatnine, chest tube, and foley.â€
The nurse and other doctor unlocked the brakes and rolled the gurney out of the room, one still squeezing the Ambu bag every two seconds. Carter slung off his bloody gloves and yellow gown and threw them to the floor. “Thanks for your help House.â€
House, who was still right beside the double doors smiled. “Anytime buddy. Nice save. So…ya hungry?†Carter chuckled under his breath and walked past the double doors once again into the frantic hall. “Doc Magoo’s?â€
House half smiled and turned out of the room, following Carter’s footsteps. “Well would you look at that, I’ve seemed to have left my wallet ALL the way up in my office…†He had now caught up to Carter and the two were walking side by side toward the exit to the ER. “Relax, you mooch, I’m payin. So, where’s Wilson?†“Some court hearing with his second wife…pfff,†House shrugged. The two stepped into the bitter cold outside the ER ambulance bay, trudging through the deep snow and tire tracks. Cane marks along with two sets of footprints found their way right beside a parked rig. A scream rang through the air as an ambulance shot toward them. A sound echoed through the bay, followed by a light and heat that lit up the area…then, all…went…quiet.

Finally, I finished this! So yeah, this is my entry for the Ship Month fan fiction contest. You may be a bit annoyed by my writing, but that's the way I like to write. Oh, and although I used "Word", there can be some stupid grammar mistakes, so I'm really sorry. And please, even though it's femslash (and some may not like it) I hope you'll read it and enjoy it.

Just one Hug – Cadley Fic.

Allison was still asleep when the rain started to drop from the sky, hitting the windows of the apartment in steady little drops. She wasn't aware of what was happening around her, wasn't aware of the fact...

Here is my entry for the Ship Month Fan Fiction Contest. Never done a Foreteen fanfic before, so bear with me on this one because I haven't had any practice at writing these characters and I don't write serious fan fiction. If this turns out to be an unholy disaster, please don't point and laugh!

Foreman & Thirteen in 'Boombox'

Foreman opened his car door and struggled to pull the giant boombox out from the back seat. It was heavy and awkward to carry, but eventually Foreman managed to lift the device out of the car and carry it to the middle of the courtyard outside Thirteen's apartment...

DIE LUCAS, YOU'RE A TOTAL LOSER, I DON'T KNOW WHAT CUDDY SEES IN YOU, SHE'S MEANT FOR HOUSE!

Okay, I get it, so could you stop?
Funny scene in preview od "9 to 5" really made my day, because it was... well, funny, and didn't matter, that I love Luddy. But then I came back to spot to write about it and I read all these mean comments about Lucas and House.
Okay, Huddy is an OTP, we get it! Not only from you, but from producers also.
Why can't I say anything bad about 13 (like right here: link) and no one has any problems with all people around bashing Lucas ONLY for being not House in relationship...

“Mistakeâ€-Moby
I feel like I’ve lost more than the love of my life. I feel like my best friend has disappeared. I know I always only give Wilson that title, but the truth is that she is on the same level of loyalty within my mind. I wish I had the courage to tell her this small fact…She would never believe me anyway. She never has believed me when I am being genuine. I deserve some of that ridicule and mistrust, but not all of it. I did bring her that med-school desk, showed up at that horrible 80’s dance to impress her with my determination, and told her she made me feel funny.

NOT MINE.

In the unlikely event that anyone on this spot cares enough about Wilson to read this :P , here's an extract from the link "Difficult Characters" written by Doris Egan (one of the writers of House MD), in which she writes a few things about Wilson's character. The complete article also includes analysis of characters from different stories she has written.

In a novel, it would be easy to lay out [a character's] thoughts. In a visual medium, the viewer has to do the work themselves, and here's the problem: we're used to there only being one answer.

Take Wilson, a complex character on...

Cuddy is a stand -alone character in House MD, she is the only character, perhaps besides Kutner, to truly believe in the ideals she lives by. Cuddy is the idealist of the show, the character that believes that good should and can triumph over evil. Many would argue that Cameron also shares these qualities, but I would argue that she has become hardened while working under House, and though I do not take that quality as a bad one, she is no longer the idealistic, empathetic girl that we were introduced to in season`1. Cuddy on the other hand, has not so much as changed as a character, but like...

Inspired by Oldmovie from link which is why she gets a spot in the title. ;D
For all of you who are dying to know all the gaps--college, House being hired--even how Wilson came to work with House. How are things incorporated together, to make what we know today?
This is just my opinion through I must say a fairly long fan fiction of how things could've happened. Very small details have been changed to fit the course of the time and events to allow them to make sense. If you want the mechanics on this(actual math, the workings, what happened and when) you can send me a personal message asking....

Wilson: We're not friends anymore, House. I'm not sure we ever were.

Harsh words, probably the first hurtful words caring and sensitive Wilson ever said to House.
Being the show's main character, we got to see more of House's side of that conversation than Wilson's, more what House was feeling and House's reaction to those words than what they meant to Wilson.
Hearing those words from your best friend must be devastating alright, but what about saying them? What about the feelings that led Wilson to speak them out loud?

I always find it funny the great ammount of House fans who are completely confident...

I'm talking of course about the lack of explanations given for House's supposed attempt to kill Chase on the episode House Divided.

My first reaction to that scene was "what the hell?!?!". It has never been hinted that House either likes or dislikes Chase any different than any of the other ducklings (old or new), so why on earth would he ever want him dead? I thought it was really lame at the momment, and since I couldn't find a good explanation for it I decided to ignore it and pretend it never happened.

But weeks later, after watching Both Sides Now, I finally found an explanation that not...

Buzzzzzzz...Buzzzzzzz... Wilson felt a vibration is his suits’ pants pocket. His hand slid over the top of the pants and griped the phone, silencing the vibrating sound.
“Dr. Wilson!†A stern voice called again, “Dr. Wilson, we WILL continue without you if you have other, more important business to attend to.â€

Wilson shot his head from his pocket to the podium and upon a grey haired judge whose eyes were distinctly burning through his own. He stumbled to find words to put with the fact that he DID NOT want to go to jail. His lip...

The rain poured over the PPTH as the doctors and patients rushed in. Not even five minutes ago, it was a warm clear evening when the rain snuck up and attacked. The lobby quickly filled as everyone tried to get inside and get dry.

It's THC again... decided to post my newest piece here since it has been a while. I've been on LJ the last month or so. It's the usual: House + Wilson strong friendship, angst, tissue worthy depending on how soft you are and PG-13. It contains heavy spoilers for 5x23 "Under My Skin"... that means insomnia and hallucinatory Amber!

Enjoy!
