Hugh's hair is done at the beginning of each day. They darken it and he also wears a special hair piece, that is the same colour and texture of his own hair. The hair piece is tailored to whatever style they have his hair in. THAT is why he has said when it comes to "down time" on set he makes sure not to lie down in his trailer as it would ruin the work of the makeup/hair department. Making it necessary for the procedure to be re-done which is time consuming and more hassel than he cares to deal with.
Hugh has been loosing his hair for many years, as far back as Jeeves & Wooster. It does not seem to be an issue for him. Any why should it be, HE is ABSOLUTLEY GORGEOUS. And fortunatley he is tall so it is not THAT noticable.

It's a combination of a hair piece and CGI. Hugh has been balding since the early '90s so it's hardly a secret. It's no big deal that he wears one for the show. It's just a part of the character's costume, like the beard, which Hugh shaves at the first opportunity.

Shaving his beard probably helps him to be less recognizable and lessens the chances of being harassed when he goes out.

After thinking deeply for a while, I kinda think it's edited with computers. Actually he'is baldy when shooting and when editing it, they use special effects to add some hair???

He does wear a piece during, however they also fix it up through the editing process. They colour in any problem areas that lighting has caused, etc.
