i know that this question is soooo long ago but what does cuddy mean when she mentioned "october october"(giving her opinion about may december affair of House's patient)? I hope you can help me..
May/December - May is spring, so it is when everything is new and shinny. December is at the end of the year, so things have faded a little. Like the diff. between a younger woman (May) and an older man (December).
October/October - Both parties have "lost" a little of their shine, shall we say. But they are in their prime and closer in age so a relationship would make sense.
Basically she is asking WHY men find themselves wanting to be with younger women. Why not find someone closer to their own age. It does not have to be someone of the exact same age. Or at least someone with whom they have something in common.
Like House & Cuddy. By my calculation there is a 5 or 6 year diff. between them. She in her late 30's and him in his early 40's (October/October).
Or if you want a actual example. Hugh & Lisa. He is 51 and she is 44. They are neither of them young anymore but nor are they old. They are of the same generation, so have things in common. BUT Hugh and Olivia Wilde for example. Well that there would be a May/December relationship.

thank you very much! i love your comprehensive analysis of this...i'm so obsessed with huddy right now..lol.. :))
She means that in a couple it's better if they are both the same age because the patient is with a girl who is younger than him

thanks! :) but why october? house said that may is when things start getting hot, why not may-may or june-june? i'm so sorry for being a complete geek about this one. :))
May is hot (= the young lady) and october is cold (= the "old" guy), october and may are really opposed like the patient and his girlfriend, i hope you understand what i mean...but i'm not really sure about that, it's just what i think ;)
