This is a suicide one-shot that takes place after House's admission to Mayfield. post-S5E24 Both Sides Now, pre-S6E1 Broken.

The plot is basically House trying to write the right words in his goodbye note to Wilson. He tries;

"Wilson,"

*

"Dear Wilson,"

*

"There was a man with a cane
All day long he was in pain"

'I'm not writing a limerick for my suicide note' House thinks firmly, throwing the paper away.

"Dr. Wilson"

He shakes his head and throws this away too. 'Wilson deserves more recognition than this'

*

"James Wilson,"

*

"Dear James,"

*

Finally settles for something close to;

"Dear Wilson,

You were worth it, the crappy hospital food wasn't. Don't worry I've left you my couch in my will."

I've put down all I could remember about it. The wording may not be the exact ones written in the fic, but it's got the general idea.
