Horror Movies Question

what's the scariest movie you've ever seen?

lately i haven't seen any "scary" movies that actually scared me so i was wondering if you guys have any reccomendations
*
Most "scary" movies seem to be unintentionally funny. Either that, or I'm becoming really jaded.

I thought Jack Ketchum's The Girl Next Door was deeply disturbing, which I guess is different than scary. Anyway, it's one of the few movies I've seen that was actually difficult to watch.

It's been a while since they've made good REAL scary movies... I remember being scared watching The Ring but I was maybe 9 or 10 when I watched it so I'm not sure it counts... The Eye scared me (well, sort of, it made me jump of my seat a couple of times) and 1408 did the same but scary as in traumatizing... not really...

You've come to the right place.

The Descent was actually pretty decent. It's real slow at first, but once it picks up, IT MOTHER-FUCKING PICKS UP. There are plenty of haunting images and a large sum of jumpy moments. To be honest, i'm not easily scared, but I had nightmares about this movie.

The Hills Have Eyes wasn't as scary as disturbing. I mean sure, the concept is frightening and the images are enough to make me wanna puke, but altogether, it's more disturbing than scary. It did haunt me for a while, though.

The last one i'd reccomend is Grave Encounters. This movie's cheesy as fuck, but once it picks up, you'll jump often. And there's this one scene that just stuck with me for ever. I've scene this film three times, and every time that one scene comes up, I nearly pee myself.

but PLEASE, only watch it if you genuinely love the grotesque, disgusting, and straight up twisted films. I'm talkin' necrophilia and worse.
