Has there ever been a movie that you expected would at least contain elements of horror, but then ended up being something totally different?

I know, serves me right for not doing a bit of background research, but last fall I rented a foreign movie (Colombian!) about a cursed accordian. I mean, just savor those 2 words: Cursed Accordian. Cursed by the Devil, no less! The thing even had horns!! I realize there was a huge cultural gap, no doubt, but the nature of the curse was never fully explained, and the aging man who needed to return the accordian to his "master", only complained that he was tired of the life of a troubador: playing music at parties, sleeping w/random women, and so on. What?!! How is that a curse?!!
