You said you needed me...then why don't you want me?

The past few days, you've been feeling much better with Randy. You feel like you have more energy and you actually sometimes don't even think about your leukemia at all! You kinda have a feeling that it's cuz Randy is too sweet to you. He always makes you smile, laugh, and he always gives you a warm fuzzy feeling in the deep gut of your feelings. The past few Sundays, you've also been going to church with Angie, Randy, and his family. You sing for the choir all the time and after services, you two always go to the lake and hang out there......

Chapter 6: Not Talking

{Brad's POV}

Randy won't really talk to us. He wouldn't talk when he got home, he didn't talk when Mark and I went into his room before dinner, he didn't talk during dinner, and he's not talking to me now. I'm sitting on his computer chair and he's sprawled out on his bed, he's staring at the ceiling, and he looks to be very deep in thought. I'm not sure what I can say, or why I came down here again. I guess I just wanted to be there just in case he felt like talking, which seemed highly unlikely.

"Why don't you just ask me." His voice in the silence startled me.

Chapter 5: Just Broke Down

{Jill's POV}

He's crying and I can't do anything but hold him. He's my little boy, and there's not thing I can do for him. I can feel his frame shake under my arms as he cries. I always though Randy was more like me than Tim. I mean, he's not interested in tools like Brad and Mark, or the hotrod. He's a middle child just like me. I can't believe this is happening. He's quieted and I feel him sniffle against me.

"It's all right honey." I murmur as he pulls away.

"Sorry mom." He says turning away from me.

"Don't apologize." I reply watching him wipe his hand across his eyes....

Chapter 4: Thought I Was A Good Person

{Randy's POV}

I always thought I was a relativly good person. I mean, I don't drink ,or smoke, or do drugs. I won't even eat meat. I was wrong though. Everything I did to Mark, bad. Anything mean or rude thing I said to anyone, another strike. This must be my pay back. I try and concentrate on the fact that its probably just on my thyroid and it hasn't spread. But I did some research earlier and this type of cancer spreads quickly. What if it spread? Mark's question rang in my ears. I don't want to think about this, but no matter what I try, I can't think...

It's so hard to say how a love could end this way...the one that used to care for you just turns and walks away. It's so hard to find to leave the pain behind but I'll be the air that you breathe, I'll be the strength that you need. And I promise that I'll be by your side...always...

Shawn: Jamie? Taylor?
Jamie: ...you can go home Randy.

You take all your stuff but Randy doesn't leave.

Jamie: You can go Randy...please go.

Randy gives Shawn one look and leaves. Randy doesn't really leave and he hides behind a wall to see if you'll be ok, not to eavesdrop.

Chapter 16: Don't Deserve This

{Tim's POV}

It's hard for a parent to accept their child is growing up. I try and come to terms with it, as my boys get older. However, now, watching Randy sleeping like he is, he looks so much like the little boy he once was. I brush some of his hair off his face, and he doesn't move at all. His breathing is deep and labored, but his eyes twitch slightly under their closed lids. I had gone home with the boys and found a message on the machine from Jill that said I needed to come right to the hospital. I study the IV that enters his hand and flinch at the slight...

**next day: 6pm**

You go to church with your grandma and she forces you to be in the choir. You practice for tomorrow's praise and after practicing for a few hours, you see Randy come in to see you. He smiles and after your practice is over, you and Randy hang out together while your grandma takes Angie back home.

Jamie: Grandma this is Randy Taylor.
Grandma: Ah so you're Randy. My granddaughters talk about you a lot. Mostly the little one here.
Randy: *laughs* Angie?
Grandma: I think she likes ya. *laughs* Well take care of Jamie for me.
Randy: Goodbye Mrs.Sullivan.

Chapter 19: Cry

{Mark's POV}

Randy never woke up. He died on our couch at 7:30 pm while we were having dinner. Trying to arrange a funeral, I never knew so much was involved. Wilson and Al have been really helpful to us. I'm grateful, we could use all the help we can get. Since we're all reacting to his death in our own way, it makes organizing difficult. Mom, she cries a lot. Anything could set her off. A photo, a word, even the sight or smell of something could make her burst into tears. Dad's turned into mister serious. Its weird to see Mr. Jokester not joking around. He's serious all the...

Chapter 13: the Easy Lie

{Brad's POV}

The effects of the chemo had become painfully obvious. Randy didn't seem to react badly at first, but as time went on, and as the doctors continued to up the dosage, the effects were becoming more and more clear. It also became clear Randy tried harder and harder to hide them. He and I are the only ones home today, Mom took Mark shopping and Dad is at the hardware store. Randy lay crumpled against the side of the couch, and I sit on the other end.

"I can move to the chair if you'd like to spread out."

"No, I'm good." We've fallen into a companionable silence...

Chapter 9: Suffocate

{Mark's POV}

Its weird for me to have to sit at home and wait. When Randy announced he didn't want us all to go and wait at the hospital, I was hurt. Then I got angry, and then after that, I suppose I got to rational. I wouldn't want my entire family anxiously pacing around the hospital waiting room either. He told Brad when he protested that he felt bad enough for having to put us all through this anyway. His argument was weak and he knew it, but once mom saw he meant it, she told us that she and dad would go down there with him and call us when they knew something. Randy...

Chapter 7: Someone Smart, Someone Like Wilson

{Tim's POV}

I needed to talk to someone, someone smart. I need to talk to Wilson. Slipping outside I think I can see him through the fence, but I'm not sure.

"Hey Wilson?"

"Hidey-Ho good neighbor."

"What are you doing?"

"I'm just studying the stars." I look up at the night sky.

"Can I talk to you?"

"Of course good neighbor." He stands and turns to me. Good old reliable Wilson.

"It spread." I don't have to say anything else, Wilson already knows and he's now peering at me over the fence.

Chapter 2: Waiting

{Brad's POV}

I wouldn't be able to tell you what went on in school today. All day all I could think of was Randy. He's my little brother, I'm suppose to look out for him. I can't shake the feeling that something bad is going to happen. Despite mom's reassurances that he'll be fine, I somehow feel its gonna get worse before it gets better. I've taken to pacing now, not really sure what else I could be doing. The phone rings and I more or less make a dive for it.

"Hello?! No........we're happy with our long distance." I hang up feeling a mix of emotions. I can see Wilson outside...

People always breaking up, falling in and out of love...I just want to let you know that I will never let you go for the rest of my life.

Jamie: I...I've thought about this for a while...
Randy: ...?...
Jamie: I like you too.
Randy: ...you...you like me too?
Jamie: *nods*

It's now November and you and Randy have a good start to your relationship. The whole school knows about you and Randy cuz of the play. Both of you take it slow and steady cuz that's how you want it. You guys just hold hands, give small kisses on the cheek (never on the lips), and you two link...

Jill: *tears* I'm sorry sweetie.
Jamie: No no...she couldn't stay here forever with me...
Tim: You know...if there's anything we can do...
Jamie: It's fine...it's fine. Thank you though...

After Randy's parents say their goodbyes to your grandmother, Randy comes up. You look at Randy and tears just start flowing. When he walks up to you, you quickly grab onto him and pull him into a hug. He puts his arms around your waist, comforting you with an embrace. Your tears just start flowing and you start whimpering like a puppy dog.

Randy: Shh it's ok. It's gonna be fine sh...

**after the funeral**

One day, she came to me. I wasn't ready for her and I couldn't hold my balance. Just to see her for one minute, I waste the rest of the day willingly. Love is corny, it makes you blind but I don't care. As long I can love her, I don't care...

Jamie: Oh. Hey Shawn.
Shawn: Where are you baby?
Jamie: Home.
Shawn: Oh. Why didn't you tell me?
Jamie: Sorry I forgot.
Shawn: Oh. So where are you?
Jamie: Home.
Shawn: Oh. Well I guess I'll leave you alone.

You hang up before you can hear Shawn say "bye" and you smile at Randy.

Randy: Didn't go too well did it?
Janie: Whatever. He deserves it.

You walk into your new high school in Detroit, Michigan. You take a deep breathe and you walk in to see everyone just minding their own business. Some people look at you cuz they never saw you in school before. You manage to find the main office and you walk in to see a bunch of kids there, shoving each other to get their schedules. Finally when it's your turn, you go and get your schedule. You hear someone call your name, Jamie, and you turn around to see your boyfriend, Shawn. You run to your boyfriend and you give him a huge hug with a big kiss.

Shawn: You finally came here, huh?
Jamie: *smile*...

Chapter 8: Working it out

"Does everyone know what time it is?" asked Heidi in excitement

"Tool time!"

That's right here is Tim the Tool man Taylor"

"Thanks Heidi, I am Tim the Tool Man Taylor and here is Al between the state line Boriland"

"ha ha very funny Tim"

"Today we will be working on is fixing home applicator" said Tim

"Today we'll be fixing a coffee maker"

Chapter 7: The first kick

All day Sunday Tim, Jill, Mark, Al and Wilson moved the baby's stuff in that empty room. Randy and Jamie were painting the room, a little green because they don't know what the baby is. Jamie looked down at the floor and had a flashback

Randy: Hey Jamie!!
Jamie: Oh hey Randy.

You kinda get surprised at how happy Randy sounds to see you today. You sit next to him in Chem and he gives you a huge smile. You give an awkward smile too and the teacher starts his lectures. After the class, you and Randy walk to your next class, English.

Randy: Did you get any of that stuff?
Jamie: Um yah. Did you?
Randy: No. I didn't get a thing he was saying. Do you mind helping me today with the homework then?
Jamie: Um no problem. Yah I'll help.
Randy: Can we go to your house to study? The library isn't opened here afterschool and my house...

Chapter 6: Six months later

Today was the day that Tim had finished the apartment for Randy and Jamie. Jamie was at her sixth month of her pregnancy. Brad went back to his college. Jill and Jamie were watching tool time. When Randy came in the house.

"Hey baby" said Randy

"Hey" said Jamie. Jamie was ready to stand up.

"No, sit there I'll came to you"

Randy walked over to the couch to kiss Jamie and Jill was looking for Tim.

"Randy have you seen your father?" asked Jill

"He called me on my cell phone telling me come to the apartment"

"He didn't" said Jill and Jamie

"Tell me he didn't touch your apartment?"...
