Hercules is a demi-god. Zeus uh...to be blunt had alot of affairs with mortal women. So Hercules' mother is actually a mortal woman. His foster mother is Hera. For the Disney version they made Hera his mother so it wasn't confusing and such being a kids/family movie.
In the movie it is Hera because its Disney. Hercules's other name was Heracles. Yes, Zeus is his father but his mother is Alcmene, who had him and his brother Iphicles. Hera ends up sending Alcmene snakes! Hera hated Heracles but ironically Heracles translates to "pride of Hera".
hera is her name in disney's hercules but in greek myothlogy hera hates hercules..... and hercules has a different mother..so then hera is hercules' stepmother
