SEAWORLD TO HALT KILLER WHALE DISPLAYS IN SAN DIEGO FOLLOWING HARRY STYLES' CRITICISM

​Back in July Harry Styles openly criticised SeaWorld for their treatment of dolphins on One Direction\'s On the Road Again tour; and his comments had so much impact he received praise from PETA and an open letter from the parks\' team asking him to reconsider his stance.

Well now, after Harry\'s \'don\'t go to SeaWorld\' plea sparked a major backlash against the parks and had more impact than the Blackfish documentary, SeaWorld\'s chief executive\'s said they\'re to phase out their controversial killer whale displays in San Diego.

The decision doesn\'t affect the other 9 parks as yet, but it\'s certainly a start. 

According to Credit Suisse, Harry\'s very public comments promoted a 400% rise in mentions of SeaWorld and a 13% increase in negative discussion about the parks\' treatment of their fish; something even Blaskfish didn\'t manage. Harreh\'s impact, eh?

SeaWorld\'s chief exec fella Joel Manby\'s now announced that 2017 will be the last year of their orca and dolphin trick display shows in San Diego; replacing them with a new experience in a \'more natural\' setting. 

This is VERY GOOD NEWS and hardly surprising since the parks\' shares have halved since the release of Blackfish in 2013.
